Thin bead set/micropave settings with some detail?

I am looking for an engagement ring setting. My girlfriend really likes the settings with the thin, delicate bands commonly described as "micropave" although one salesperson informed us that these are more correctly known as bead set since there are not multiple rows of diamonds.

I want platinum not white gold. The center stone will be ~1 ct.

These are examples of the most basic settings that fit the description

While this style is basic enough that it may be hard to do too much with, I would like some variation of this that has additional detail or styling to make it a big more unique.

this one is cathedral style, which I like but is not a must, but more importantly, it just has "something extra" that means it looks less like purely pins dropped onto an eternity band... but it's white gold.

I've looked around a decent bit, but would really appreciate any suggestions anyone may be able to provide.

I plan on buying online or in person in NYC (a few hours drive away)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you bought the diamond yet? It is good, when possible to buy stone and setting at the same place.

Do you have the diamond yet (like DS asked)
What's your budget for the whole ring
What's your budget for the settingsetting

And yes there is a difference in pave types, if she likes that one with the metal on either side of the pave, then that would be bright set or bead set that you're looking for.

Without knowing any of these answers, this is one thing I'd look onto

I have not bought a stone and would prefer to get the stone + setting at the same place if that works out to be a good deal.

Total budget is around $8k with some flexibility if need be.

Niel - that ring is definitely one I will consider! It is definitely along the lines of what I was thinking
