...well, except the runt. He's a hot mess. He's been to the vet twice already, from pooping blood to not being able to poop at all. Poor thing, the vet says, "Just a runt." He is now, literally, one third of the size of two of his littermates, half the size of another three, and maybe 25% smaller than the next closest to him in size. I've been mixing canned pumpkin with all of his food now - apparently it's a magic food for kittens. If they can't go, it makes them go - and if they're always going, it makes them stop.
Hopefully he'll start to gain some weight soon, he's barely over 250 grams! He's still the apple of my eye though, a miniature shadow that chirps at me and tries to suckle from the tip of my nose.
Anyway, here they all are in their Melbourne Cup-themed glory. They're about 6 weeks old now. The runt is Trifecta, the nearly all white male is Exacta, the white female with the patchy head is Quinella, the black female is Filly, the smallest male tabby is Jockey, the smaller tabby female is Derby, and the biggest tabby female (though we call her Boof) is Maiden. Though as time passes, Maiden looks more like a Mister, if you know what I mean.
The name may end up being very unfortunate indeed. If she is a he, I'm thinking he will be Colt.
