These settings are so similar, so why the price difference?

Hi,

I've been looking at settings and just wondering why two different sites have almost the exact same setting and the price difference is so drastic?

There's this ring from James Allen
http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/james-allen-exclusive-engagement-ring-item-49519

and this one from white flash
http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/diamond-settings/petite-open-cathedral-diamond-engagement-ring-1539.htm

maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see much of a difference...

Could it be that James Allen has lower quality standards and their setting may not be as good?

Please help me understand.

Just a quick glance and the price for the JA 18k white gold is $960. That's not too far off from the WF. I just bought a ring from JA and would recommend them. But I would have to say that many others here recommend WF. Ultimately, you should find the center stone and go with the setting from the same vendor if at all possible.

I'm probably the descending voice but I like the look of the JA better. It just looks like it's better made (IMO).

It may just be the quality of the pictures though.

I agree with Sparkly...get the setting where you buy your stone.

There it is! It's the gold. I didn't realize the JA was 14k. When I changed it to 18, you're right it's much closer. Thanks.
