I was showed two oval stones, too:
1) Okay, this one has a report that is frankly unidentified - she said she''d bring me the official one. I''ve seen this stone twice now and it''s pretty, even under magnification. She says it''s EGL certified but the stats sheet has no identifying information as to the lab (it''s a copy). Just says Oval report No. 1151 dated 11/28/2006 ( I know it seems fishy but let''s ignore that for the moment and look at the numbers b/c it really is a pretty stone):
2.21 ct
Witdth/Length 7.38 - 9.88 L/W: 1.338 EX
Total Depth: 63.1 % 4.66 mm
Crown Angle: 38.4 degrees (38.2 - 38.7) P
Crown Height: 16.8 % (16.1 - 17.4) G
Pavil. Angle: 40.4 degrees (40.4 - 40.4) EX
Pavil. Depth: 42.9 % (41.8 - 44.1 ) EX
Table size: 58.6 % 4.33 mm EX
Girdle thickness: 3.4 % (2.9 - 3.9) EX
Then there are two diagrams of the stone with the various degrees and percentages noted.
I really am confused - but what I saw was a pretty stone! No real bowtie evident with naked eye. could see it under magnification, tho not prominent.
Color - not indicated on paper, she reports G
Clarity - she reports SI 2 (really could not see much even w/ loupe) - it''s eye clean for sure
EGL cert. WILL give me proper documentation of course.
2) Oval Brilliant - EGL USA certified 4/22/2007
Measurements: 11.9 X 8.18 X 5.59
Depth: 68.3
Table: 64 %
Crown: 15.5 %
Pavilion: 48.4 %
Girdle - think to sl. thick faceted
culet none
polish good
symmetry good
SI 1
H color
Flourescence faint blue
price: not exactly sure - she mentioned $25,000
No real bowtie evident with naked eye, yes under mag. tho not prominent.
3) Oval Brilliant, GIA cert. dated 12/2006 (online vendor)
Measurements: 10.19 X 6.96 X 4.15
2.01 ct
G color
VS1
polish very good
symmetry very good
From the diagram: table 60 %
depth 59.6%
no culet
girdle sl. thick to very thick, faceted
no flourescence
Pics, red pics, etc. Price quoted $21 - $22k.
I''d love some input here. thank you so much!
