I received a flyer about this today from my HOA and it was a new idea for me.... http://www.theyellowdogproject.com/The_Yellow_Dog_Project/Home.html

I remember we had the post recently about letting your dog approach other dogs or vice versa and I was wondering if this idea is spreading or not. Seems like a good one. Has anyone seen a dog with a yellow ribbon?

I haven't seen any dogs with yellow ribbons, but I love the idea. This poster has been circulating amongst all the rescue groups I follow, and I think it's great.

I saw this on FB and think it's a good idea...BUT in Perth, all council-provided poo bags are bright yellow. Everyone here ties a spare one to their dogs' leads. If we all took them as warnings, no dogs would ever meet again! :blackeye:

I haven't heard of this, but it's a fantastic idea and I hope it does catch on! If only they "yellow ribbon" dogs would stay out of the dog park! There is a Husky that's always at the dog park that's a total jerk and I want to punch his owners.

That's a good idea. I used to live in Pasadena, where there's a huge dog population. Most dogs were friendly. One big dog came over to my dog, and the owner totally said nothing, and didn't pull away or anything. My dog sniffed the bigger dog's behind, and the big dog walked over my dog's body, and bit down on his back and picked him up in the air. My dog had a hole in his back for a few weeks.

The owner THEN, after the fight, told me that I shouldn't bring my dog near bigger dogs. Uh??!

The idea's great. But sometimes owners are complete idiots. They might not comply or bother with yellow ribbons.
