In two weeks I''m planning to begin my diamond search for my pendant. I''m hoping to create a three-piece set with my diamond stud earrings, which are .41 per stone. My budget is limited so I''m going to have to go with another stone around that size. I LOVE the WF Bellerina pendant, but am wondering if the amount of metal surrounding a smaller .40ish stone would overpower it. What do you guys think?

The alternative would be a standard four-prong setting attached to a chain.

Also, another question is I will NOT be upgrading the stone (my husband isn''t into jewelry so I have to be good and only buy a few things a year!

). I can get an ES Ready-Set-Go H SI1, set in platinum for quite a bit less than having a loose stone set. If I purchase the stone seperatly, I''d have to it set into white gold instead. Would I really be able to tell that much of a difference between a Ready-Set-Go and an ACA? Also, would the H RSG be an H for sure? Could it be an I since the diamonds among those choices are not certified?

Thanks for any help or opinions.

Here is the Bellerina:

Somehow this post got lost! Better late than never, I hope!

I think the Bellerina pendant would be lovely on a .40 ct. stone. It will be in proportion to the size of the stone, so it should be fine. It will have the added benefit of enhancing the size of the stone a little, too!

I'd probably go for the loose stone. Even though you think you'll never upgrade, there is always a very small chance!

Thanks for answering. I found out that a .40 won''t fit the pendant properly and the diamond would need to be over the .50 mark, which is above my budget. So, I''m just doing the simple pendant attached to the chain in WG. It''s kind of boring, but hopefully the diamond dazzles enough to compensate

I see this thread answers my question. There''s nothing boring about a diamond! It will be just lovely in a simple setting!

Oh, I think that is a beautiful look as well! It''ll look really good with your studs!
