I would like to know what is actually going on behind the scenes with Saudi Arabia; The United Arab Emirates; and Qatar. Is that really too much to ask? I am not asking for peace in The Middle East or anything like that, after all! I am posting a link to an MSNBC story I saw tonight about Jared Kushner and a meeting he had with the Saudi Crown Prince who just consolidated his power with a somewhat bloody coup (I mean, people were tortured) in Saudi Arabia. There have been reports that the Saudi Crown Prince claims to have Jared Kushner "in his pocket".
Prior to Qatar denying the Kushner family a half billion dollar loan, the United States had a friendly policy towards Qatar (where we have a huge military base). After Qatar denied the loan, the United States backed a blockade of Qatar by the UAE and Saudi Arabia (its enemies). Now it is rumored that The UAE has been sending huge amounts of money into Trump's coffers and that this is being investigated by Robert Mueller. It is also rumored that it was The UAE and Saudi Arabia who ordered Rex Tillerson fired as Secretary of State, which is problematic, if true, because it means that foreign governments are directing US foreign policy.
It is difficult to separate the interests of the Trump and Kushner families from the interests of United States when neither the Trumps nor the Kushners will divest themselves of their businesses while running our foreign policy. Does anyone have any light to shed on this?
