OMG, LOL

This is disturbing. The amount of time and money devoted to lawsuits stemming from conflicts of interest and alleged violations of the constitution will take energy and resources away from life and death issues facing us.

I laughed like a loon.

Excerpt:

"Perhaps there is one thing, a singular positive note amidst the gloom on this, the most nauseating inauguration day in modern American history – though it’s less a silver lining and more an encouraging sign of life after you’ve just been told you have four weeks to live, and they will all be at gunpoint in the basement of a Hobby Lobby in rural Kansas.

It’s this: The anti-Trump resistance is, very quickly, gaining real power.

The historic Woman’s March is just the beginning, but it’s a telling one. As Rolling Stone reported, all the most important progressive groups, from the ACLU to the Sierra Club to Planned Parenthood, are seeing huge surges in participation and donations. But more importantly, the progressive world is, in the words of PP CEO Cecile Richards, experiencing a moment of “enormous solidarity – our issues and, frankly, our activists are all connected.”

In short, progressives are quickly putting aside their differences and realizing, if we are to save our ideals, our loved ones and a sliver of our national pride, we must unify, clarify our goals and tactics, and yank the chain of flatulent oppression until the orange beast chokes to death on his own mangled tyranny.

Let’s be clear. This is not, technically, a silver lining. After you’ve been mauled nearly to bloody, quivering death by an scowling orange demon with very tiny hands, the fact your big toe is still twitching is not an “upside.”

But on this, a day when democracy itself just took a serious bullet, it could be a sign that the shot might, just might, miss our most vital organs."

Just laughed aloud at my desk throughout. Thank you for this. The bolded are perhaps my favorite parts. Although I also loved the following paragraph

No longer. Trump’s official policy is simple enough: a tiny, raging middle finger to everyone, and everything. No more do we as a country give a damn about immigrants. No more caring about the public health, the poor, improving public schools or roads or small businesses. To hell with reproductive choice and protection women from rape culture. Climate science, vaccination for children, energy policy, China relations, respectful land use? Get serious. You think ISIS is bad? Trump’s GOP is, at scale, by far the most dangerous organization in the world.

My mom always said "money doesn't buy class" and the Mercer's are a good example, it's horrible to me that people this rich use their money to support organizations that want to limit the lower classes. They are disgusting.

So here we go, back to Reagan time.. when great white men (and poor actors) were in charge.. lucky us.. it's not money, it's the power of women these chumps want. blah.

Hopefully Humpty Trumpty will spend much of his time in court fighting lawsuits instead of accosting women.. we can hope!

FYI - For those who like that sort of thing, Forsetti is on a roll today.

I like what he writes but feel bruised after reading him. Truth hits hard.

OH yes. I so hear you on that. He is brutal. Hence the warnings or in this case, no links. You have to go find him now if you want him. It's my attempt at a layer of protection. :((

I find I usually have to read him in small doses, otherwise I get the urge to go to the liquor cabinet and drink all my husband's scotch. At one sitting.

OK, you know I'm kidding, but I'm sure you feel the pull too after his stuff.

Thank you and Matata for mentioning Forsetti here; I'd never heard of this blog. Brutal, certainly, but I like it. There is a list in today's post that could've been taken from Dancing Fire's arguments here.

Your excerpt hooked me. I went on to read the entire article. It was excellent. Thanks.

But DF, I thought that's where everyone was during Trump's sparsely attended inauguration.

How funny was Spicer last night talking about how the news about crowds, etc. was demoralizing to the president? Oh man, is he in for a rough ride. Did he think everyone would bow to him upon being sworn in? Sweet li'l snowflake. Maybe he should have talked to POTUS 44 about that reality.
