There are only two insects that I allow to live in my house and those are ladybugs and lightning bugs. I have seen in friends homes where they get infested with ladybugs. I have no idea what causes this and that is not what happens here so when I actually get one I am super excited and protect it from the cats.

My grandparents had a log cabin once, and my bedroom ALONE was INFESTED with lady bugs. I very rarely opened my balcony doors and never opened my windows so I have no idea where they came from, but there would literally be fifty or so at a time....

I can't say I Disliked it much.

Thanks for the link! I really enjoyed it, what amazing photos! I never realized how ugly the larvae is, the adult ladybug is certainly much cuter. I love ladybugs, it's the one insect I would never kill. Several years ago the back of our house was covered with them for a while, and then they just eventually went away.

How interesting! Thanks for posting this. I put my computer down, left the room for a while, and when I came back, there was a lady bug on my nightstand. How funny. Not unusual here, though. I moved him to the window and am hoping he finds his way out.
