I just read about The Royal 201 cut (http://www.costerdiamonds.com/en/diamonds/royal201) and wonder if anyone knows anything about this cut? How does this cut compare to a H&A brilliant cut diamond? Are there other "special" cuts for round diamonds with more "sparkle" than a brilliant cut diamond?

There are a dozen other branded cuts out there that have a bajillion extra facets - and they're all marketed as "fantastically uber-sparkly".

The definition of "sparkly" is very indeterminate. You'll get more twinkle, sure, and more splintery bright return, but you'll get fewer of those bold flashes that larger facets emit, so it's not a "better" cut by any means - just a different one, one that gives in one property to gain in another.

Not my cup of tea, but there's a market for everything! I think the best candidates for these 100+ facet cuts are really, really big stones - with a 5ct stone you don't need to worry so much about individual facets being too small for big flashes of light

Here''s a video of a Star129 from GOG. This cut I have seen in person and it creates quite the disco ball effect. If all you''re looking for is high sparkle then this might be the cut for you.
