Hi all. I''ve happily lurked on this site for a while to gather smart information while we figured out how we want to go about selecting a ring...and now it the moment of truth.
My boyfriend and I have an appointment this weekend with a great jeweler near my hometown in NJ.
I provided him with the following specs for the ring I''m looking to have him make:
- Cushion cut stone between 1 ct and 1.5.
- Platinum setting with pave/micro-pave on the top of the shank.
- Low to medium profile on the ring - I don''t want something that stands up very high on my finger
The jeweler called me yesterday to confirm our appointment and to say that he has 5 stones for us to see that fit our specs. And he has several settings. He''s also mocked up a ring for us to see - based on our description.
What are the most important questions for me to ask him when considering the stones? If I can at least get a basic outline of the top things to ask/look for that would help me immensely.
Thanks SO much in advance!
