As some of you may remember, I had a thread going about which diamonds to choose. Well, the reports I requested for the 3 diamonds I chose are finally here.
Tell me what you think about them. I combined the pictures for each diamond but if you need me to seperate them for clarity, just so so and I''ll post new pictures. Now for your verdict.

Lorelei and Stone-Cold, thanks for your help the last time round.

I need some help here. As a novice I''m not even sure what I should be looking at in these reports. So please comment when you stop by here.
Hoping the pros and everyone else will help this helpless diamond buyer.

Thanks a lot for your comments.

3 is very nice. the other two are as well.

#3 by a hair would be my pick
Thanks Karl. May I ask why?

#3 has the most "ideal" measurements. But is it's cert from 1981???

What is the clarity on these stones?

The clarity is SI1 for the stones and #3 looks like it was certfied in 1981. Should I be worried about that?

have a copy of the report?

The vendor must have made a mistake somewhere.
This is a copy of the GIA report that was sent to me.
However when you look on the Sarin report it says AGS 1989
Could they be showing me IS and Sarin reports that are different than the stones I chose?
Now, I''m really concerned.

I''m taking a close look at the measurements on the GIA report and they don''t match that on the sarin.
The GIA has these measurements(this is also what was displayed on vendor''s website)

Depth 61.5
Table 55
Crown 34.5
Pavilion 40.8

Sarin has sifferent measurements.

What do I do?

Sarin numbers can be slightly different than the GIA numbers because GIA numbers are rounded. I think maybe the AGS reference is to say that the measurements meet the AGS 0 qualifications. If the GIA cert is for the third stone, at least we know it is a recent cert.

Why the 1981 date? Any ideas?

the date is human-entered. it might be a mistake, or it might not be the date at all.

Ditto - and assuming everything is in order, I like #3 best also.

Agreed, IS of Stone 3 looks best.
