The Queen of Soul has died

May she rest in peace.
She lived her life with compassion and kindness. Those who knew her loved her. The world lost a good soul. :cry2:
 
Man, she had a voice, but more than that, she had soul ... songs sung by her reached deep ... may you rest in peace, Ms. Aretha Franklin, you were one of a kind and the world was graced by your presence.
 
I have always loved her music - may she rest in peace.
 
Man, could she ever belt it out! She was a true legend.
 
President Obama said it best: “every time she sang, we were all graced with a glimpse of the divine.”
 
Unbelievable talent. Was saddened to hear of her passing.
Pancreatic cancer has claimed a lot of lives. Really need more research on that cancer. I did a fundraiser once for it when my wonderful father in law passed away from it.
When you first have symptoms, it is usually too late, like ovarian.
May she Rest In Peace.
 
I was so sad to hear this, and am especially grateful we were able to see her in concert last year. It was evident then that she was failing in memory and health but I certainly didn’t expect it this soon :(2
 
Even sadder is Fox News mistaking Patti Labelle for Aretha Franklin.
 
I had the fortune of seeing her two summers in Santa Barbara, CA - the Santa Barbara Bowl which is a small venue. She was amazing. Just being in the same space as her was incredible. RIP Queen.

I had not known the cause was pancreatic cancer. That is truly terrible. May she rest in peace.

I can’t believe Fox News with the Patti LaBelle pic. There were also so many beautiful pictures of Aretha and they chose one of the worst.

I had no idea Aretha and Smokey Robinson were friends when they were little kids. He said they became friends when they were 8 yrs old.
 
Very sad day. She was incredible and talented.
