Finally after the wait I can post about our proposal!
First some background info: Andrew and I met online and we talked (as friends!) for TWO years before we decided to meet. I lived in southern Missouri at the time, he grew up just outside of D.C. We moved to the St. Louis area two years ago and about six months ago we bought our first home and adopted our second puppy.
On Friday night, Andrew and I went to one of our favorite restaurants and he intended to propose afterward at the top of the Gateway Arch on the last tram of the evening. Well I was slow getting ready so we made the reservation a little later and ended up missing the last tram so unbeknownst to me the proposal was postponed.
Saturday morning we went to the Soulard farmer''s market and bought peaches and had beignets for breakfast and then we went down to the riverfront near the arch. We went on a helicopter tour for about 15-20 minutes and had our picture taken in front of the helicopter. After that we walked up to the arch and he proposed under the center of the arch!! The arch has always been pretty special for us because it was one of the first little sightseeing/daytrip places we visited as a couple.
After I accepted we went to the Arch giftshop and bought postcards and had them stamped with the date. I''m going to do a framed collage with our picture in front of the helicopter and our postcards of the arch and some engagement pictures when we get them taken. After THAT we went on a carriage ride along the riverfront.
Here are some pictures!
