The price of a platinum ring

I was wondering what should it cost for a platinum ring and setting? I think I paid around $1200, maybe a little under. It was custom made, or so the jeweler said. I am having a tiffany band with a knife edge put on it.

I guess it depends on the thickness of the band. Is it just a plain platinum metal, Tiffany style solitaire with a knife edge? Just confirming.

Yes just a plain band, I wanted the smallest band possible. Tiffany style solitaire with a knife edge.

price would be about right for a designer plain plat. solitaire. is there something special about the head of the ring, like does it look like the real tiffany or is just just 6 straight prongs? do you have a picture?

I found some at www.exceldiamonds.com for under $900. It's PT with a knife edge. $1200 isn't too bad at a B&M but there's definitely room for negotiation. www.Whiteflash.com has theirs for just under $800.

Sorry, I dont have a picture, it is being made. He showed be a ring that it would look like in the store, except that the ring did not have a knife edge. It is for an assher stone, so it will only have 4 prongs, but they are going to be pretty small and they will be cut to fit the stone.
