The President May Be Considering Judge Jane L. Kelly

Rumors are that President Obama is considering Judge Jane L. Kelly for The Supreme Court. When Justice Scalia first died, I read about the judges whom the media said should be on his "short list" of possible replacements. She was not, then, a front runner. One thing about her that caught my notice (besides her receiving 100% Senate confirmation when she was raised to the federal bench), was an incident I had to look up separately. She survived an assault by an unknown man while hiking (if I recall correctly) in which she was very badly beaten. The assailant was never identified or tried.

You know it isn't going to happen Deb. The Republican senators are implacable in their obstruction of Obama.

And the abortion case in Texas is at the SC right now. It's a tie of course, but....the women are not being silent. (Apparently, after exhausting a decade's worth of questions, Thomas has reverted to sphinx status).

Thanks for posting this Deb. I am not familiar Judge Jane L. Kelly yet and off to do some reading about her. I hope she gets the nomination if she is a good candidate. We need more women/pro women rights Supreme Court Justices.

I am pinning my hopes on Patty Judge now. I am hoping that she scares the pants off the Republicans. Maybe when Charles Grassley realizes he is an elected official, some of the others will remember that they are, too. (The majority of people want President Obama to fill Justice Scalia's seat.) And what if she actually were to win his seat? Although all we really need is to let him know he has to be accountable to the electorate!!!
