The OTHER SMTB - Show Me The BLOOMS

 "crack babies!" That is hilarious!

PintoBean,

Thanks for your kind compliments.

By the way, how big was that pot for the wee baby spruce? You might need to re-pot it as it starts to hit the 30-foot height or more. ;))
It was originally in a big pot! The crack babies are actually nesting in their baby pots within the big pot! After I stick the spruce in, I remembered I had one more tiny pot, so I transferred it soon after posting about the spruce. My husband saw it and said, "oh, a tiny Christmas tree!"
By the time it grows to 30', I will Probably be long gone from this world :errrr:

Oh, I think you might be surprised at how quickly trees can grow. My Hoopsi shot up and is suddenly huge! I'm actually hoping she won't grow anymore. Apparently, they can reach 30-60 feet or more.

She was a little 4-foot baby when a former neighbour gave her to me as a gift, following a visit to his dad's tree farm.

It's a white pine, according to my neighbor. I'm excited about the prospect of making furniture, making hardwood floor boards, and... Making coffins :naughty:

Beautiful flowers everyone! Great idea for a thread! I don't have a single picture from this year. These are either from my mom's flowers, mine or the local Botanic Gardens.

A few more of my favorite. We had a hail storm here on Wednesday so this morning I trimmed most of my flowers back - maybe they'll be back in bloom next weekend.

Marcy,
Those flowers are beautiful! And that white one from the Botanical Gardens is gorgeous! I've never seen a flower like that before.

I had planned on posting the following photos to the 'nature and wildlife' thread because they were taken out in the woods. But since there's this 'blooming' thread, I'll share them here. Besides, I have a bunch of dragonfly photos to post in the other thread once I finally review them. :))

These photos of a Blue Flag Iris and Lady Slipper Orchids were taken at a conservation area. Apparently, the Lady Slippers only bloom for 2-3 weeks each year.

Marcy, gorgeous flowers!!!

December-fire - I don't think that anyone would object to you double posting your pictures in both threads.

Careful, PintoBean.

Once the monster (and her camera) are let out of the cage, it can be very hard to control her. :Up_to_something:

Let's see how you react to wildlife photos creeping mischievously into your pretty flower thread.

I didn't grow these, but I love the colors:

December-fire!!! Insects are so cute up close! I'm not a fan when they are trying to feed off me, though! What a cute bug - it looks like it's fuzzy and has a marshmallow in its mouth! So cute!

Madame bijoux you've got blooms that diamond rings grow from? :appl: :appl: :appl:

Slowly but surely my quart baby hydrangeas are giving me blooms!_4709.jpg_4710.jpg

Madam Bijoux and PintoBean,

Gorgeous! Beautiful colours (amazing diamond rings!)!

PintoBean,

Your baby hydrangeas look very happy and healthy! Wonderful!

You're right about the dragonfly! He does look like he has a big marshmallow in his mouth. If you're interested, last night I added about 5,472 dragonfly, butterfly and bee photos to the 'Show me your wildlife/nature photos'. Well, maybe not quite that many.

pink Magnolia bud; white Magnolia flowers -- the fully open one is as big as a dinner plate, lovely delicate fragrance

Shasta Daisies and a yellow-flowered vine thing growing in front porch pots. The Hosta flower is a delicate orchid color with a lemony fragrance.

What a beautiful property, Elizabeth35! Lots of dust for a quick sale!

I just got a shipment of 8 mini to small hostas I ordered plus a gift they threw in from ilovehostas.net. How cute are these?!?!

I had to show you guys how that original baby coleus has grown, after I re-potted it for the 3rd time today! I have since found 2 more baby coleus that are of the same variety, one in the same cracked Belgium block area, and another just showed up in a large pot randomly
Lolol. Anywhos on to the comp shots of OG coleus compared to the babies in its OG home lololol.

Have you tried planting ajuga - burgundy glow? It is so beautiful and it spreads and it is so stinkin' hearty! All I honestly do is plant with compost into the ground for all my new plants and water when they get wilted which is every day in the summer lololol. And when I ran out of compost I planted with top soil. I put cedar mulch and it smells good but if it washed away I raked it back best I could. That's it. If I can do it you can I promise! This was my first time having my own garden, and I wasn't so optimistic Bc my track record with house plants is iffy. :errrr:

For the Dahlia lovers on board:

I haven't had much time to actually plant much, though I do have a plumera tree with hot pink blooms. Its huooge! Can't take credit, it was here when I bought the house! I do have lots of images from the last house in Mass though.

Aside from that, I grew some mint in a few pots. Hm...not exactly blooms but well...baby steps... ;)

One more time:
