The Other Schism: Trump and Pence

The other schism that was laid bare in the debate between Secretary Clinton and Donald Trump was that between Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence. Not only has Mike Pence had serious policy differences with Trump (such as Pence wishing to topple the Assad regime in Syria, rather to collaborate with the Russians there), but Pence has been forced to remain on the campaign trail, saying he wants Trump to be president, as salacious video and audiotapes continue to be released. Donald Trump wants Pence to defend him, not criticize him for these tapes. The two are not getting along. When asked about Syria during the debate, Trump not only acknowledged that his policy was different from that of Governor Pence, but also said, "We haven't spoken".
