I am still looking, thanks to everyone who has helped so far. Right now my top of the line candidate is from James Allen, though I hate to leave Blue Nile after everything I have put them through.

Best so far

For those who click the link, check out the VS2 inclusion plot, it seems wonderful for eye cleanliness and the fact that it has an ideal cut can verify that it does have excellent light performance. They are also going to check it and make sure it is eyeclean from all angles and then they will send me an IS image (which i will be posting here to see what you guys think, since I haven't had much experience with IS yet). It will be 2040 after PS discount and money wire. Def. a winner so far, its E color!:) yea!

the next in line is a F VS1 from blue nile, I am still waiting to hear from them about the side view eyecleanliness, I think even at VS1 it is potentially even more trouble than the cloud in the previous VS2, but probably eyeclean from all angles as well, i imagine:

Second Place

The third stone I am looking at is also a Blue Nile and if it is pavilion side eyeclean (which they are looking into for me) it is a real deal and has the potential to take the cake...though the E color of JA will be hard to beat (and hard to match in the future):

Third place, potentially first

As a final thought this is another good option. You will see here that it takes the cake in depth percentages and has a very clean VS1 inclusion plot, probably clean from all angles. Plus the G would be a bit easier to match than the E when I turn this one into a side stone in the distant future:

But I am still looking

I am still looking so thank you for any advice or comments. Even if you are not sure, I am sure your comments will give me a place to begin learning at the very least, so speak away. And I may post my IS image here for opinions on it in the next couple of days, so stay tuned!:)

None of these links work for me!? Has my husband fixed my computer so that I can''t look at diamonds?!!! Or are other PSers having trouble too.

I''d like to look and comment but I don''t even know what shape these stones are much less see photos.

They don''t work for me either.

That has to be the funniest thing I have heard/read all day!! Thanks for the laugh!

I can't see em either......???

ETA - Oh, wait....now they work.

AH! sorry guys! I have spent so much time reading GIA reports and doing diamond searches I never bothered to read anything about pricescope. (I got a warning today about violating rules actually...whoops!) but I now have the links working, i hope i didn't tarnish any good husbands' reputations!

Also, i know the inclusions plots are not necessarily to scale, hence my request to have them inspected from all sides. But i'll be honest, I am very excited by the JA one and their willingness to give me IS images and data that I request (tell me if you think I should have anything else in particular checked) That gives them major bonus points over BN, though I still LOVE blue nile and will give them first look for future purchases anyway :P

Considering you hope to use the stone in the future, I think you should go with the G VS1. When it comes down to buying a new larger center stone in the future, you''ll be really glad you''re matching up G color stones. Plus it is a tiny bit bigger than the others which makes it at least mentally more appealing to me.

Well, I am having really mixed feelings about that. On the one hand I agree with you compeletly (in which case I would probably pick the Blue Nile one because it is much cheaper, and use that money difference specifically for the proposal) but at the same time I want my engagement to go perfectly. Alluding to what someone mentioned in a previous thread, here in America the most common engagement ring colors are G and H, however we also have a heavy emphasis on size. Thus I would think that the Japanese, who I have experienced put more emphasis on quality than quantity would probably have f-g as the most common engagement ring colors. Thus E would probably be really appreciated, especially if it was completely Eye clean and masterfully cut. Meaning that by Japanese standards I wonder if G might be the bottom of the rung?

I really want her to wear a larger diamond so I can watch it flashing

. In the end though, the future is uncertain, but I will def. be improving on it over the years. Perhaps when I make my three stone in the future I could get a setting that fairly well masks the sides of the stones, so that my only goal is to get a center that faces up at colorless quality? But I def. understand your point, and it is a dilemma I didn't expect to have
