DD- Thanks so much, you are the best! Here is a little background...I have been tracking my cycle for the last 5 months using CBFM and opks (I sleep with my mouth open so temping didn''t work). I''ve always ovulated on cd 13-14. I haven''t been on hbc for 3 years (it messed with my body too much so we''ve been using condoms) so the only thing different this cycle was the B6 (no stress or illness that would have delayed o, but I guess you never know). I had just read that B6 can also delay ovulation so I just (probably wrongly) assumed that was why I o''d so late. I was a little concerned that 100 mg is too much (but have also read that the body flushes out what it doesn''t use and that women tend to take 50-300 mg to lengthen their luteal phase). Don''t know if I''ll use it next cycle, I guess I''ll see how long my luteal phase lasts this time (if I don''t get a bfp, that is). I know that true luteal phase defects are rare, I just hate being on the 10-day line between being normal and having a potential problem! Glad to hear that the increased cm after ovulation may be a sign of stronger ovulation. Sorry for writing a novel...

One last question...if my period always comes 11dpo (like clockwork between 6 and 11 am) does that mean I have a 10 day luteal phase (which is what I''ve been thinking) or an 11 day luteal phase? Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it!
2.gif

I''d hadn''t heard that about B6 delaying ovulation, but who knows! I''d guess that means you have a 10 day LP, which is on the shorter end BUT... and this is a big ol'' BUT... since you aren''t temping you don''t know the exact day you ovulated! Note, for example, that Radiant had positive OPKs for two days after she apparently ovulated... so you could be O-ing earlier than you think.

You know, many women who cannot temp orally will instead temp vaginally. I think you just use a regular basal thermometer, the temps will be similar to what you would get orally. If this month isn''t it for you, and you want to have as much information as possible, then I''d totally try that out. Just keep it in a safe place and don''t let anyone stick it in their mouth
3.gif
. All you have to do is wipe it with a cloth afterwards, the vajayjay is actually much cleaner than the mouth.

I was thinking about trying that when I was all stuffed up from my cold (which is still here by the way
29.gif
), but DH was like, OMG, what if someone comes over and uses it not knowing! I''d have to say, ''No, I''m sorry, you can''t use that one, that''s the cooch thermometer!'' I was like, uh, who would walk into our bedroom and just start using our thermometer?! Now that I''m able to breathe out of my nose and sleep with my mouth closed again it''s a non-issue, but it still makes me laugh.

LOL!! Would it really be better if they used the one you stick in your mouth?? Don''t share thermometers people!

LOL Robbie - I know I ALWAYS use my friend''s thermometers when I come over for a visit!

I''ve thought of it too since I also sleep with my mouth open, but I honestly think my husband would look at me with 10 heads if he saw me temping vaginally in bed! He''s still clueless with the whole temping thing to begin with and thinks it can all just happen naturally (which it can, but I definitely want a little assistance!).

I also had a short LP my first two cycles temping (they were both 9 days) and so I also started takeing 100 mg of B-6 and during that cycle, my LP was 13 days, but I ovulated on CD 24 which was my latest O-date while charting. Needless to say, that freaked me out since I also did nothing different other than take the B-6 so, I stopped taking it.

This cycle, my O-date was CD 17 so, it''s changing - right now I''m on CD 25 and 8 DPO so, we''ll see what happens this time around.

Wow that is really interesting, two of you had similar experiences. Why would B6 affect ovulation like that?? Anyone know?

I googled and found that not only does it increase progesterone, but it also decreases estrogen, so that would explain it since estrogen is the dominant hormone pre-o, right? Not sure how reliable the source is, but I got it from the link below.

from: http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:Q7DlyyzMqJAJ:www.babysnark.com/ttc-fertility/ttc-fertility.asp+b6+ovulation&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

I think Robbie''s research is a good reason to leave well enough alone. Don''t mess with your hormones unless you know for sure that you have a problem that needs fixing. Otherwise, you may cause problems you didn''t have before without knowing it.

Dang, I don''t know if I sleep with my mouth open or not! I hope I''ve not been doing all this obsessive temping for *nothing!!!!*

I''ll have to ask Paul if I sleep with my mouth open...

That kind of gives a whole new meaning to "playing doctor"! LOL

Ok, PMS or preggo, what is going on with my boobs?? They never feel this way, whether it''s PMS or in my last three pregnancies (that I can remember anyway). They feel close to like the day my milk came in after I delivered my babies. And my cramps today are soooo uncomfortable but still, none of my usual pre-AF spotting.

I''ve also decided to not POAS again until Friday if AF hasn''t arrived. I think I''ve POAS myselfed out and with all of them being negative, it''s just a bummer. Well, maybe Thursday
11.gif
. But definitely not again today or tomorrow!

Ooh, good luck feb! I''ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Feb 2008 - mine hurt too. How painful are yours? I don''t remember them feeling this way before, BUT I really don''t think I was paying much attention, so it could just be normal pre-AFF stuff. How many DPO are you?

BB- I'm 10DPO, CD26. I took a test today and it was a BFN but like Dreamer said, it's probably just too early. Also, I'm really a 30 day cycle so it's probably best if I just wait it out till Friday. If AF hasnt shown, I'll test. How many DPOs are you? funny how every little possible symptom is highlighted!

ETA: They don't hurt but are really uncomfortable, sensitive and they feel heavy and full. At one point I was laying down while my kids watched Lazy Town and my nipples were tingling, very similar to when I would have a milk let down while nursing my kids. Verrrry weird.

Thanks Robbie! Three days ago I was sooooo convinced I was pregnant, it was ridiculous! So I''m just going to relax about it and not worry or stress anymore. I asked DH if my breasts looked or felt bigger to him and he said he didn''t know, that he was so used to them he couldn''t tell! Hmph. Men.

Good luck you knitters! I''ll be rooting for you from a distance. I''m off to NYC - I''ll be back Monday and I hope to see some BFP when I get back!!!!!

As for me, please send me some baby dust from a far, as I''ll be O''ing on my trip.

This is a stressful time for sure, hang in there ladies!

Feb - I'm on 8 DPO. I know, I'm definitely trying not worry about it too much this cycle. For some reason, I just don't feel that good about it, but only time will tell.

DD and Feb - You're right, I should get DH in on the "fun" - he could definitely lend a helping hand!
31.gif

Good Luck Mela!!!! Have a blast in NYC and have fun with BDing...try not stress!!!
36.gif

Amber - I hope everything is OK - we miss you around these parts.

Thanks for all the info gals! I think I''ll try temping vaginally next cycle...then I can get a fairly definitive o date.

Mela Lu- Good luck!

BB and Feb- Sounds promising!!

Hey ladies.

Amber - Buddy...We are thinking about you. I hope things are alright...

Feb - You are still early!!!

NYC - I'm sorry. I agree with Pandora! Have an unpasturized cheese and sushi party!

AM - I had water7 CM like CRAZY this cycle (and still do actually)...so it might not be a bad thing. My luteal phase was short as well. My cycle before my BFP cycle was only 25 days. And I tend to ovulate around day 15 or 16...So it was short.

Pandora - Yay for getting off the meds. I called my GP when we were TTC and she suggested I ween myself off my happy pills...(i was on a small dose of celexa)...and I have. I've been off them for two months now...So I'm glad about that. Did you ask your doc about the best way to taper down?

Robbie and Fisher - I'm sorry you guys are still under the weather. That stinks.

BB - I'm thinking good thoughts for you!!!!! And I totally understand...my guess would be that if you have a weirdo symptom that you haven't noticed before...and you've been TTC for a bit, and therefore noticing EVERY single symptom, the sore (*)(*) is probably something new, ya know???

Mela - Have a WONDERFUL trip!!!!!

Also, LOL at the hoochie coochie thermometer discussion. I'd keep it by the nightstand. If someone is digging around in your nightstand and finds it and uses it...well, that is the penalty for being a SNOOPER! hehee.

Feb, last cycle I asked DH if he thought I was pregnant and he said yes. When I asked why he said "because your breasts hurt and they look bigger." I had to remind him that that always happens before I get AFF. LOL. I wonder if DH is going to start imagining symptoms with me.

To be fair, this is really my 1st offiicial month trying - last month technically was, but since we were traveling most of the month with family and I wasn''t charting/temping, we just threw caution to the wind and said whatever happens, happens. Although, I feel like I''ve been TTCing for much longer consider I started this thread last Oct...almost a year ago!
6.gif
But, that was mostly because I had just gone off the pill and wanted to gain as much knowledge as I could (that''s just my nature) before trying.

I am hoping and wishing for a BFP, but if I don''t get one, there''s always next cycle! I''ll use this month''s chart to guide me and will be purchasing a monitor which will be great. Yep, it''s full steam ahead for me!!!

Robbie, I hear you on this! I''m really bad about believing what I *want* to believe and I was *sure* I was pregnant way back in Feb/March, when we weren''t even trying yet. Sweet Paul has had to endure me talking continously, it seems that way anyway, about the signs and symptoms of pregnancy and that sort of thing that he know thinks everything could be a sign of it. It''s cute that he is so hopeful that we will be on the parenthood track soon, but it''s also funny because it only adds fuel to my fire when I think I''m pregnant every other minute and a half.

When I started feeling bad on Sunday, Paul asked if I thought it could be linked to me being pregnant. I told him that since I''d not even been on this cycle long enough to be anywhere near what would be time to be even ovulating, I was pretty sure not. Still, he told me to write down all the things I was feeling, just in case. He''s a nut.

Blushing, I feel the same way about how it seems like it''s been "forever" that we''ve been trying to have a baby, when really this is only the second cycle for us. I think that once you start thinking about it, even if you''re not actively trying yet, it seems like you''re already on that track in your life. I was talking to a friend about this the other day, and she said that it was so funny (odd) that I was stressing out about it (and I don''t know that it''s stress as much as hope and wonder) when we''ve only been trying for one cycle. I think once you get to the point where you are really trying, it''s because of the months of talking about it, praying about it, dreaming about it, reading about it, learning about it, that leads up to "being ready."

Good luck to you in your wait. It''s an agonizing *but exciting* time!

I also like to think about how cool it will be once we are pregnant, and we''ll have all these friends on Pricescope to experience it with, to talk to about all the odd things that happen to our bodies, the plans we make, etc. It''s like going through the ladies in waiting thread all over again. We''re all totally eager for this amazing thing to happen in our lives, and we have no idea when it will happen. Exciting!!

Hi gals! I''m a little confused because on CD17 I got a weak positive ovulation test, and I just got another one today on CD20. Nothing on days 18 or 19. By weak positive I mean that there was a definite, fairly strong line on the kit but that the line wasn''t quite as dark as the control line. I can only think of two things: 1) I''m ovulating twice this month or b) tomorrow I will get a much darker line (darker than the control line) that will be a true positive.

Peony, you should have run away! Double ovulation? MORE PS TWINS!!!!

Actually, I have no idea what could be causing that.

Amber, thinking of you.

Peony, those ovulation tests are notoriously unreliable for a lot of people...so take them with a grain of salt. FWIW, I think your body''s natural signs are much more reliable indicators of ovulation...

I''m almost positive the rule is that you have to have a line that is as dark or darker than the control line. I don''t think almost as dark counts. Hope this helps...did you get the same weak positive today? Or was the line as dark or darker than the control line?

Peony, when your body releases 2 eggs it''s within 24 hrs, so you wouldn''t be able to tell unless your doctor was monitoring you with ultrasounds.

I''ve never used OPKs, but I''ve also heard that it''s not positive unless the test line is as dark or darker than the control. Sometimes your body gears up to O, but for various reasons doesn''t. I''m guessing that''s what happened. Here''s to hoping you O soon!

thanks for the pity party guys

now that we are trying we can''t....funny how your whole life you do everything to avoid pregnancy and then when you want to get preggo you can''t.

to AFF

welcome and good luck to all the new TCCer''s

As for me, that no good, dirty, AFF showed up this evening, and on my vacation no less. it''s disappointing, certainly, but i am a bit concerned that i may actually have a progesterone issue. my internet gumshoeing seems to confirm my suspicions/fears, but as i''m no doctor i''ll put in a call to see what the heck''s going on. basically to recap, i''ve had spotting beginning a week before AFF, lasting up until AFF for the last two cycles and a few more before that. i didn''t think anything of it until the go-around i started typing in my pattern and low progesterone seems to pop up.

boo.
39.gif

Hello ladies!

NYC and Lulu (and if I missed anyone, you too!)- I'm so sorry about AF. She can be a real PITA.
40.gif

6 DPO, and nips are still sore. Good sign? I'm having my progesterone tested tomorrow. Doc said anything over 25 means probably pregnant, but I don't know if that counts ladies who've taken Clomid. I'll do some research tonight and tomorrow, because I'd hate getting 25+ and later find that it's due to the Clomid.

Anyway, good luck to the next round of POASers! I'll probably wait until 14 DPO. I know, I'm no fun.
41.gif

Bah. I see now that Clomid can cause higher progesterone levels. I was hoping it''d be a quick and easy pregnancy test! Oh well.
