Mela lu - On May 9th, almost 8 weeks since my D & C, my HCG levels were at 23. I couldn''t believe it dropped so slow. I went back on May 19 for the second time, and my levels were at 13. This was after my dr. prescribing me Provera to help jump start my cycle. So in 10 days, it dropped 10. On May 30th, my HCG levels were at 10. Two weeks later on May 13th, my levels were down to 5. I know everyone is different, but just wanted to see what happened with me.

If your levels are 5 or below, that''s when your body normally will start preparing for ovulation again. Hope it drops soon for you! Sorry that Canada don''t sell preg tests at their Dollar Tree stores. I have never tried the Dollar Tree tests before.

DD - I asked at the dollar store - and they didn''t carry any - but I''m going to check some other ones in my ''hood.

RadiantGirl - HOLY DINGDONG! I cannot believe how long it took your levels to go back to zero! whoa. (like, Joey Lawrence, whoa) Your story reminds me of losing weight...you drop all kinds of weight, and then cannot get the last 5 lbs off. Pesky little HCG''s. I''m going back 2 weeks from now for another test. Thats fine, because that''s (hopefully) around the end of this blechy cycle. If it''s a zero - the I''m going to get crackin'' after AF.

Cannot believe I''m about to say this...
"Dear Auntie,
I miss you! DH and I are anxiously awaiting your arrival, in fact, we have fresh linens waiting for you! I''ll have all your favourite ready, like peanut butter & chocolate ice cream, Potato Chips at the same time as pickles, and of course, your favourite, Thai food. Oh Auntie - come soon!
Love, Mela lu"

Ebree - So glad you ''checked in'' with your update! I hope your auntie comes soon too!! I hope the last of your tests wrap up quickly, and that you and DH can get busy trying again. xoxox

TravelingGal - Thank you so much for the well wishes! I''m really glad to be back. BTW, your little darling is so adorable! She looks huge for just being 3 months and I do see Korean in her totally. Sorry to hear about your hair loss and period coming back already. After I had my D & C, I was losing a lot of hair, more than usual. My doctor told me it was normal considering what my body was going through at the time. I was so looking forward to getting my period (normally I would not have) and it took 3.5 months for me to get it. It looks like your body is ready to be back to normal even faster than mine and you had a baby! Are you still breastfeeding her?
Thank you! Yes, she is tall and lean. 24.5 inches, and honestly, I am not feeding her as much as I should. Or should I say she is not taking as much in as I would like. Still, she is growing and gaining weight, so all is well.

I stopped breastfeeding at 2 months...I simply was one of those rare cases with no milk. Still, I am proud I did it for as long as I could...I squeezed every last drop out!!! So almost a month after I stopped BFing, I got my period and the hair started to come out. There are definitely perks to BFing!!

I''ll be hoping to see you on the preggie thread soon!

hey gals. it''s crickets here at work right before the holiday and i might just skip on out too! but, before i take off i wanted to wish everyone the best with their waiting - whether it''s for AF, BFP or until you hop a plane to take off for exotic vacation locales! good luck!

Mela: In my area it isn''t any old dollar store that has them, but specifically "The Dollar Tree" stores. Might be worth a check in your area for one of those. Also, you can buy the cheapie tests on amazon!

Radiant--
Just want to say glad to see you back.
Hope you see you (and all the rest of you ladies TTCing) on the preggo board soon.

Lots of baby dust to everyone!

radiantgirl, I''m glad to see you back here too!

Lots of baby dust to all the ladies TTC!

Just wanted to give another shout out for charting! I had my first ultrasound yesterday, and if I hadn't known that it was likely I ov on Day 20 (meaning that I'm a week behind their usual development chart, because that's based on ov on Day 14) we would all have had to tentatively conclude that the pregnancy wasn't viable, since everything 'in there' looks 6 weeks, not 7.

So charting has now saved me an ENORMOUS amount of worry.

Let's just hope F/F was right about my ov day and that we get a heartbeat next week!

Anyway, just another reason why it's good to know what was going on in there... even once you end up pregnant.

And even if you hadn''t had an u/s this week, which many women won''t don''t have (like me!), your due date would have been a whole week early and so you might have been unecessarily induced b/c the Cub was "late"!

I''m so glad you knew that, I''m sure it''ll turn out fine next week at the u/s.

ID, I know someone in that exact same situation. Her HCG levels were very low and she was told she was having a miscarriage. In fact, she just ovulated very late in her cycle. Hooray for that extra info!

BTW, I just found out today that my 44-year-old boss has been trying to get pregnant with her first baby for the last 2 yrs. If I got pregnant soon, I''m worried that if will be extra hard to tell her. . .

Peony, I had a similar situation with my MIDWIFE! She''s exactly my age, and had told me that her husband was resisting starting a family (I mean, except with her). She sounded a little desperate last time I talked to her so I was a bit worried that it would be weird. Anyway, turns out her husband was finally ready 6 months ago, and she''s 15 weeks pregnant! just a bit ahead of me.

Did your boss just not know that waiting till 42/44 was... unwise? Or was it a situation beyond her control? It''s scary that there are still women out there who don''t realize the odds of getting pregnant without help stop being on your side circa 40 or so.

I think a lot of people realize the risks but either aren't ready or haven't found their partner until later in life...just because it's statistically harder to get pregnant and more risky doesn't mean it's right for everyone to have babies early(ier)...

And then there are the people who see lots of celebrities getting pregnant in their 40's "without a problem" and think it'll be easy for everyone.

Yes, I think she knew. She has a Master''s in genetic counseling, and a PhD in genetics (we are neurobiology researchers). I just think she got married later and her husband wasn''t immediately ready. Or maybe she wasn''t sure she wanted kids initially.

Oh, that''s sad.

Poor lady. I really hope it works out for her!

Hey ladies. Just checking in...AF is winding down. It was a relatively light period, so no complaints. Our stupid internet connection has been crapola these past few days...but it seems that they''ve finally resolved the issues. I''m in a crummy mood. DH decided that sushi at our favorite restaurant was the thing to do, despite the fact that it was wicked expensive (I love DH so darn much), but they are CLOSED FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF JULY! Do these people not know I am cranky and in need of amazing Sushi????

Thanks for the kind words DD, Mela, Blen, Erica

Indy - I''m glad your visit went (relatively) well. At least there was no bloodshed! And I''ll be thinking about you when you have your next U/S! I''ll be looking forward to hearing some good news.

LuLu - It is very weird to be disappointed when I saw AF! That was definitely a first for me! And I''m going to be honest, I am really disappointed. I feel so silly. First time trying and all that...but still. That negative was a killer. I know how stupid I am being...but it doesn''t help much. Add to that the hormonal craptitude that accompanies AF...and, well, lets say that DH deserves some sort of metal!

Radiant - Welcome! I''m still relatively new to this whole thing...the TTC and the TTC Board...but thought I''d put my welcome out there nonetheless.
35.gif
And for what it is worth, I had several friends that miscarried and then went on to have very sweet babies shortly thereafter!

HIL - I totally understand what you are saying re: the BD''ing. Regardless, I hope you were able to get out and have a nice vacation!

BB and Amber - I hope you are having a great time on your vakays!

Ebree - Welcome back and good luck with everything!

Peony - I''m sorry about what your boss is going through. It can be a tough thing. One my closest friends had a cancer scare and realized that for the first time, at 39, that she might want to have a child. I know how difficult the realization was for her. Unfortunately, other medical issues intervened and she ultimately decided to have a hysterectomy, but it was tough. Although I felt a bit weird about telling her that DH and I were trying...I was hesitant, but of course, she was wonderful! She has already started harassing me about when we can start decorating the nursery! SO she might be more understanding and excited than you might imagine.

Hi everyone. We are back in LA from our week in Kauai. It was just marvelous, but that sun is no joke. I got burned the first day we were there (despite the plentiful applications {yes, multiple}, and since I''m sun-intolerant (why go to Kauai, you ask?), it resulted in a swollen, blistery and itchy mess for the whole trip. My skin is still itchy and red, with the most attractive pebbly appearance. As soon as we download the pictures I''ll post them. I''m thinking my chances of being PG are slim to none, along with the traveling, my terrible skin issues and the heat, my O cycle seemed off. I got +OPKs for two days, the days FF said I''d be fertile, but my EWCM came two days later, when the OPKs were negative. Usually I have the EWCM the same day as the + OPK. So, despite my lovely vacation, I''m feeling a little bummed about ruining the trip with my skin issues, and missing another month''s cycle.

Anyway, hope you all are well! I''m so exhausted it''s not even funny. Be back later!

AWww, poor Amber! That sounds nasty. It really is hard to fathom how crazy the sun in the tropics is. It''s a TOTALLY different animal. Despite SPF 45, I burned the first time I traveled close to the equator, and I almost never burn. So since then I always cover up unless I''m actually in the water. It sucks, but for me it''s the only way to keep from getting crispy. No lounging in the sun for me!
7.gif

But in the bebe department, I wouldn''t worry too much, so long as you managed to get at least a little nooky in despite the skin crisp. My guess is that Egg day was delayed a little and that it was the later day, from what you describe but you never know. Also I was sure that, if Egg Day was Day 20 and not 16 as I''d thought, I wouldn''t have a chance this month, since we missed all but one of the ''lucky'' days. So who knows? Maybe you''ll get lucky too.

35.gif

LL, since you're a sushi lover, you should comfort yourself like I was planning to each month that you don't end up knocked up: SCOTCH AND SUSHI NIGHT! Because you can't have sushi while you're pregnant.

Shame your fave place isn't cooperating.
38.gif

Hopefully by the time it reopens, you won't be allowed to go there anymore anyway.

Ditto Amber! It doesn''t matter if your signs were off as long as you did the F-tastic to cover both bases! Welcome back!

hey girls! We had a GREAT weekend (weather-wise) and I have great news - I had TONS of EWCM yesterday. Cycle day 18 post m/c. I looks like things are returning to "normal". Today i only have a bit of creamy lotion-like juice, so only one day of EW this cycle. I wonder what next cycle will hold? We''ll be trying next cycle for sure.

Amber - so sorry to hear about your trip hiccups! that sounds so painful, and so not romantic. Try not to get too down about it - as we all know, it ain''t over till the Auntlady sings ;)

LL - I''m going to indulge in lots of sushi tonight. I''m sorry that you had a craptastic day. hope you''re feeling better!

Indy - YEY on the u/s and you cracking the code!

All of the knowledge here never ceases to amaze me.

See you later! I hope everyone is having a great sunday night

hey all...glad to see the thread is still hipping and hopping.

mela lu, are you in canada? if so, "dollaramas" have the preggo tests you''re looking for.

indy, i totally hear you on the charting...when i went in for what was to be my 8 week ultrasound - the technician said the baby was actually measuring 6 weeks and 5 days. thankfully there was a heartbeat, but the difference in timing was because the clinics all assume a 28 day cycle when setting our due dates, and my "35 day cycle/ovulation @ 21 days" was obviously not what they had in mind...

glad to see the rest of the ttc''ers are keepin busy

baby dust to you all!

Hi gals! Just chiming in with a question about my chart. I''m on my second cycle now, and all of a sudden I''m getting open circles (denoting the fact that my data might not be accurate) if I''m temping 55-30 mins apart instead of 30 mins apart on different days. Last month, I temped anywhere from 7-8am, but now it doesn''t like the fact that I temped at 7:55am yesterday and 7:20am today. Why this sudden need for ultra-consistency? Thanks!

Good morning everyone.

I''m back from Tahoe, and either 3 or 4 DPO. The advanced setting on FF says 4, the fam setting says 3.

Just wanted to stop by quickly to say thanks to DD, Mela and LL for the supportive words. My chart marks my chances as "good" so we''ll see.
I''ll be back later to catch up with everyone

Nothing to report here, I''m about 6/7 DPO (I think), still got this irritating sunburn on my shoulders, and I hate being back at work!

How''re the ladies doing today?

Unfortunately I don''t have much to contribute either! Just knitting away I suppose.
Do you think it will be too early to test 9-10 DPO?

How terrible am I that I just realized that I forgot to write a few of our thank you''s from the wedding in APRIL!!! AGGGGGHHHH! I don''t know how it happened, but I''ll fix it today for sure!

Amber, hope your sunburn goes away soon
38.gif

HIL, I still do that every now and then. I go, "Did I write so and so?" I hate that! When is AF supposed to show up?

I''m supposed to O nearing the end of the month, so if I''m correct about this month not working, then I''ll have to try again at the end of the month.

Hi ladies! I have nothing exciting to report as well unfortunately. I am currently on CD 10 and we are just trying to maximize our chances for a BFP by BDing every other day or everyday. Not sure when to expect ovulation yet because this is my first cycle after D & C and the cycle I did get pregnant on was my first cycle off BCP after being on it for over 10 years. I'm pretty regular though, so here's to hoping my cycle is finally back to normal again.

Mela lu - That's awesome that you are already having EWCM. Hopefully your cycle is returning to normal again.

Lots of baby dust to all of you and for those of you currently in your 2 WW.

lili and snlee - Thank you for the welcome back. Hope to see you over the pregnancy thread soon!

I think AF should be around the 15th of July. FF is saying don''t test til a week later?! yeah right. I know it''s bad to test too early for emotional reasons, but I am soooooo anxious. The whole baby making experience was much better once we got out of town and away from work stress, I am hoping that we got lucky this time around. If not, I should be O''ing again at the very end of July/first of Aug. so it sounds like I''m right in line with you Amber.
