Lysser: My DH does the floating dachshund game with me too. He picks up both dogs, pokes their heads around the door frame and says, "Helloo mommy!" using our dog voice (which is a silly falsetto, since they are little dogs). It too is comedy gold, lets take pics and start a thread

As for testing, here come my technical questions/suggestions: First, did you cover all your BD bases? Since you are not charting, that would mean BD every two days from CD 8 until at least CD 22... given the longish cycle with no BFP (yet!!) if I had to guess I would say you O''d later in your cycle this month, maybe around CD-20... if so are you "covered"? If yes and you were a later ovulator, then you could only be 10 DPO. I think it caaaaan be very common for women to O late and therefore miss their fertile window, so if you do get your period this month, next month you may want to try covering the CD 8 until CD 22 window, being sure to try to assess CF as well as you can, since that will really help you pinpoint O day.

It''s also possible your cycles are still adjusting to being off BCP. Was the May 8 AF a period at the end of a pill pack? If so, then the May 31 period was ACTUALLY CD-1 of your first cycle off the pill, which means this may only be your FIRT natural cycle! My first natural cycle was 28 days but I am fairly certain it was not a fertile cycle based on the fact that I had no CF to speak of... same with my second cycle, which was only 24 days but had a super short LP and still no CF. Cycle three though, that was a good cycle and we got preggo, so you may just have to wait a few more cycles for things to get normal.

Or you could be preggo now and your "PMS" could be pregnancy signs! LOL! Did I mentione that ALL SIGNS OF PREGNANCY are also signs of AF? Crazy but true.

DD - I will for sure take some pics! Although you must not judge the HORRID color we painted our guest room. It was supposed to be a cool sort of lilac color...it didn''t end up that way. I like to call it Barney on Acid. We are going to use that room as the nursery and we will most definitely be repainting it.

In response to your technical questions...

My May 8 period was my second period since stopping BC...I had my first period in April after finishing the pack of pills and I didn''t count that one...May 8 was sans pills. Hence the cramps and craptacularness of the whole thing!

So, this past month AF came on the 31. DH and I were pretty regular from the 6-16th. Took bit of break until the 22. So we did miss about 6 days there. We''ve had parents here and stuff since then...so not tons of sexy time happenin'' with my mom and dad in the next room!

I have been monitoring my CM...and it seemed pretty EWCM earlier in the month...but considering how much we were DTD (Goooood gawd am I oversharing) it was a bit tough to tell what was what...I did notice that I had a bit of watery, ewcm-y looking stuff later in the month...and we BD''s around that time too...which was the 22. So who freaking knows.

LOL!! Who knows indeed! I know, covering the bases is hard work
2.gif
You''ll just have to wait and see, and if it happens that it wasn''t to be this month, then next you may want to try covering a longer time frame with every second day BD...maybe you O''d on the 22 and CD-30 is still too early?

DD-
It''s so true, early pregnancy signs were a lot like PMS for me.
40.gif

LL-
I''m still feeling pretty good, although after I took a nap on Saturday I felt like I had a hangover. I''m about to start week 7, so who knows what''s in store.

As for being CD30 with no AF or BFP, who knows what''s going on! I agree with DD that BDing every other day during a longer time frame will be your best shot for now, especially as your body is adjusting to being off BCP.

Amber-
I hope you have a FABULOUS vacation! I bet it''s just amazing there.

Quick update - CD 31. No AF, BFN this morning.

Sigh.

sorry LL! Hopefully you''ll find out something soon.

Im CD14 and no signs of O yet. Hopefully that will change

Oh LL, I hope you find out definitively either way soon.

Hi again, ladies! Hawaii is just beautiful, and I am awake at 8am here. I wish I could sleep in, but I''ve been SUNBURNED! In case you think I''m one of those morons who doesn''t wear sunscreen, nope. TWO different kinds of SPF65. I''m basically sun-intolerant, according to my dermatologist. Anyway, despite that and the dang roosters who crow 99% if the time, we''re in heaven. Hope you all are doing well!

Since coming off the pill, my cycles have been nutzo long.... I've been averaging like 42 days a time. I'm hoping to learn when I'll be O'ing and have been doing the BBT thing, but I've not seen a pattern yet. I might would if I'd do it longer, but I'm not really fully vested in it. I don't think I have a regular temperature and the thing bounces all over the place, so now I'm at odds with it. Plus, I get tired of finally drifting back to an almost-asleep state just to hear the alarm sound that it's finally registered a temp.

Still, I want to have some sort of documentation if it's ever needed, should we think we need to see a Dr. regarding not being pregnant in the length of time it takes on average.

Man, I'm jealous already of those first try cyclers. Lucky they are!!!

I'm still hoping to be one of them, since this is our first time of actively trying.... I wonder what the odds are.

Have a blast, Amber. Vacation rocks! I'm counting the days to ours.... whoo hoo for NO WORK!!!

I agree with this highlighted part for sure! I am also jealous of my friend who had a happy accident and never had to even think about TTC at al! LOL

I think the odds of conception in any given cycle are about 20%, but in can increase to as much as 40% if you can manage to BD in the two days immediately before ovulation, which is why I really like temping and monitoring CF! Let's you catch that egg!

I think that 42 days is on the long end for cycles, and if you are kind of irregular too, then the complicated thing is trying to estimate when you will ovulate! You are probably safe if you BD every two days for the whole time
20.gif
but that seems like a lot of work! LOL! Compared to that marathon, I kind of think that temping is a lot less work
2.gif
...

So let's assume you are using a basal thermometer, taking your temp at the same time each morning, and placing the thermometer way back into the heat pocket under your tongue (not doing any of those things can mess up your temps), then variation in your temps from day to say is totally normal. What you are really looking for is a pattern where your temps *tend* to be lower pre-O and then "tend" to be higher post-O. If you aren't using a program like www.fertilityfriend.com it is free and makes charting a lot easier.

If you don't mind me asking, before you were on the pill were your cycles shorter and more regular? You mentioned that on average you post-pill cycles are 43 days, how many cycles has that been and what was the range? I ask because depending on your answers I have some other suggestions/information I can pass on about this "womanly business", if you are interested... feel totally free to ignore my prying if you want, I will not be offended!

I just loved learning about all this stuff during my TTC journey and enjoy talking about it...

Hello everyone, boy it took me awhile to catch up. You girls were busy last week!
I *think* I'm on cycle day 21. I didn't really temp while on vacation, mostly because the first 3 mornings I had an actual fever and after that I just gave up. So, we will see what happens.

Lisa-I'm so excited to see what happens with the 5 follicles!!

ETA-Correction, I *know* I'm on cycle day 22, I *think* it is 8dpo.

Good luck Tiffany! I have a good feeling about this month for you

Thanks Dreamer!! It would be super ironic, since this is the first month I haven''t temped in a looooong time!

hey ladies,

long time, no chat!

first a little catch up"

Lisa: i''ve got fingers and toes crossed for you like crazy!! go follies go!!!!!!!

blen: same thing. i really hope that this is the cycle for you and your hubby! you certainly gave it the good ole college try, so i''m having a good feeling for you
2.gif
3.gif

LL: baby dust to you lady. i''m sorry that you''re having to endure the limbo of not knowing but hopefully one of those sticks will reveal a nice, fat, positive line! hang in there!!

tiffany: good luck, you''re more than halfway done *knitting* that positively adorable little cap!

amber: complain about noisey roosters all you want, but i''m still not going to feel badly for one second
3.gif
oh how i wish i was on vacation!!!! good luck making a little hawaiian.

sorry if i''m missing anyone, but i have to run to a meeting.

DH and I decided to wait until July, so now i''m on CD 21 or 22, waiting for AF and feeling ever so ready to start this process!

to all the recently knocked up ladies - i hope that you are feeling well, staying healthy and i''m glad you''re sticking around. i know there are times when seeing other people have success can be difficult when you are bogged down in the thick of ttc, but i''m finding all of the new little buns extremely inspirational and not to mention you are all just a wealth of knowledge!!

Well, another update...CD 32, no AF...didn't test today. I am getting quite frustrated! I either want to be preggo or not! Gah. and Blergh. I am going to hold off testing for a few more days. Thanks for everyone's kind words...I'm telling you, this whole darn thing has been an exercise in patience. I'm glad I have you guys to vent to...I'm also very grateful for my bestie, Lourdes, who has an adorable daughter and is quite the fertility guru. I only mention her because she's been lurking here since I told her how great you all were. Hi Lo!
31.gif
35.gif

Very annoying.

Amber - I'm sorry that you got burned! That Kauai sun is NOOOO joke. DH burned the holy christmas out of the tops of his feet on our first day...although it totally stunk...it did give us an opportunity to check out Waimea Canyon and just check out the island! Hope you are having a great time!!!

Tiffany Welcome back! I'll be sending good vibes your way! I hope you had a great vacation!

Lulu - Nice to see you again. I totally don't feel prego. But considering that I've never been prego, I have no idea how that feels! Honestly, at this point I'm just waiting for AF to show so we can get a move on trying again!

Lysser that is odd, but you know some women on here have been preggo and not found out until like CD 33 (Indy) or later... it all depends when you O!! So hang in there. I didn't feel anything special when I was knocked up, its only because I had been charting for a few months that I had any idea that I was having some ctrage symptoms.

Blen how's it going gal? You must be almost at the end of the 2ww by now!

Amber: have fuuun in the suuun... or out of it!
2.gif

Anyone else in the knitting club now? I know Lisa and Tiffany are in the middle... Good luck to you all!

Hey, is blushing on the vakay now?

Hey DD and the rest of my fellow TTCers!
35.gif
I leave for vacation tomorrow and I''m soooooo excited!! Both DH and I are in desperate need of some vacation time so, we''re pumped. Things are crazy around here trying to pack and finsih up work - I need to keep reminding myself that my company will not shut-down with out me! LOL...
2.gif

Anyway - I was supposed to hear back from my doc today about my progesterone levels and gave them a call this morning to let them know I''ll be out of the country, but no word as of yet.
20.gif
However, the TTC will continue...

Baby dust to all those TTC in the month of July! I can''t wait to come back and read all the updates!
36.gif
35.gif

LL- I don''t know how you can stand it! Hang in there, Dreamer is right, maybe you just o''d late. Would a blood test from your Dr. show if you''re preggo if a home test doesn''t?

Amber- I hope that sunburn doesn''t put a damper on things! I''m sure you''ll keep yourself entertained out of the sun
3.gif

Fisher- I am not such a fan of temping either and am hoping with everything I have that I will be a first try success story. If not though I do feel better knowing that I am at least understanding what''s going on with my body and not leaving it up to total chance. If you don''t mind me asking, what CD are you at?

Tiffany- You''re over half way there! Keep on knitting
9.gif
Fingers are crossed for you.

Blushing- Yay! It''s vacation time! Enjoy your travels, and feel free to show us pictures when you return.

Blen- Are you still knitting? I''m hoping you''ll get your BFP very soon.

DD- I love that you are still checking in with us TTC''rs and offering up your wealth of fertility knowledge. Hope all is well in your Preggo world.

Lulu- Don''t you just hate all the waiting involved!? I seem to find all of the recent ttc graduates encouraging as well! Hopefully we will all be joining them soon.

DD - Yeah it is weird. And just checked CM. Definitely tinged brown...soooo could be implantation or AF. Gah.

BB - Have a great Vakay! Have much fun and take lots of pictures!

Blushing have a great trip and please let us know the news from your doc if you get it before you leave! I am really hoping it is good news! I know it will be!

Happy thanks for the kind words! Things are good in preggo land, I'm now almost 6 weeks, no major symtoms yet, just need to eat regularly or I feel a little shakey. You really don't need to temp to get preggo, even if all us crazies on here make it look that way
2.gif
Monitoring CF alone is enough to time the BD... heck, random chance works too!
3.gif

Lysser here's hoping, but only time really tells. I think just waiting and seeing is the best approach, but of course that isn't always possible!

DD- hee hee... I''m a crazy too. We were planning on just "seeing what happened" but then I started reading and learned about charting, and the small window of time to concieve, etc. I am not much of a chance taker, I''m too much of a planner, so as much as I hate the beeping of the thermometer, I actually like knowing "where I''m at" KWIM?

Lisa- Are you around? How are you doing?

I thikn Lisa is in OK this week, she won''t be testing until July 9 if I recall correctly.

I also like charting, it is really addictive. I still temp every few days just to add another dot to my last chart
20.gif
I found it really reassuring when TTC to know we had covered our bases instead of just wondering if we had hit the window or not the whole month.

BB - Have a great time on vacation!

Lysser - I really hope that this turns out well for you. Good luck!

I''m 13 dpo, and I''ve decided no more tests until I''m late. AF''s due on Thursday, and I usually get some spotting the day before so I''ll just have to see what the next two days hold.

I had... something... on a pregnancy test at 11 dpo. A really really faint something. Hubby said that he saw "a smear" but didn''t want to say that it was positive, but it was in the shape of a line and had some pink color to it. BUT, it was on a Dollar Tree test, and I know that they produced false positives for some of the women on Ovusoft. I took a FRER at 12 dpo - nothing.
40.gif

After this morning, I''m glad that I didn''t know anything positive while my dad was here. I expressed some concern about how he''s doing, and he just reacted by verbally attacking me and my hubby (who was at work). There was some major projection going on and there was nothing behind the attacks, but it still got me feeling down for most of the morning and I feel like it would have been even worse if he thought I was pregnant. While my dad respects women who succeed in traditionally male roles, I feel like he really devalues traditionally women''s work. He also tends to take things personally that aren''t really about him. He still hasn''t gotten over me dropping out of grad school (which is something about which I hold absolutely no regrets), and I have a feeling that he wouldn''t take pregnancy news as well as I would like him to. As much as I''d like to be able to tell all of our family in person, I think that distance really would be better with him.

I''ve had slight cramps on and off, but all other possible PG symptoms are more easily explained by other things. Hunger? Probably stems from drastically changing our menus for the last couple of days to accomodate my dad''s diet. Tiredness, moodiness, headache? Well, see the last paragraph I wrote.

Oh, and two of my pups had dental cleanings yesterday and the ACD had to have 5 teeth extracted. This puts him 7 teeth down. When we adopted him, he was missing a tooth and both of his upper canines and a molar were fractured, so we''ve been expecting this, but still. Poor guy was in obvious pain yesterday despite the morphine, and I woke up at 6:30 this morning to him incessently licking the sheets, resulting in blood all over the place. My baby.
39.gif

I''m holding up well, considering, but feel like I need a vacation to recover from the two vacation days that I just took. Blah.

Oh Blen I am so sorry about everything! Family can be great, but they are also really stressful sometimes, I hear you on that! And your poor puppy! I hate seeing them in pain, but I''m sure you are doing everything you can!

Best to wait on the testing... maaaybe that was a positive, maaaaaybe not. Who know?? If you are preggers, it''s become really obvious in another 3 - 4 days, so try to hold on!

Blen- Sorry to hear about your weekend, sounds like you''ve had a bit of a stressful time. Hang in there, just a few more days
1.gif

Hey gals! Just popping in for a quick question: is it important to temp during one''s period? Today was the first day of my 2nd cycle (first was 31 days--I''ll post the chart soon), but I only got 2 hrs of sleep because I was up really late studying. I know that temps are expected to be erratic during my period, but I can start temping my period w/ day 2 depending on how important it is to have these numbers. So far my class is going well! We just had the midterm yesterday, and I think it went well.

Thanks so much!

No need to temp for the first couple days, all you really need is at least 6 temps before you O, so unless you are a very early ovulator then you can probably skip the first couple days of each cycle.

Peony- I didn''t start charting my first cycle until CD9 and was still able to see a pattern, but then this cycle has been different. IMO you should be if you miss a few days during your period. Maybe someone with more experience will share advice too though.

OMG!!! HI my buddies I am such a Nutter!!

Just a quickie here as I am in OK
23.gif

Good Mem. DD - Thanks for the cheers Tiffany and anyone else just did a quickie read.

This hotel has internet.

Olivia has a cold AND a urinary tract infection (she''s on antibiotics) but otherwise OK.

We are 3 hrs from Euphala (sp) where there is a lake and some BBQ. Oh and I forgot my
bathing suit & have been 2-3 wal-marts to find one. They either have bottoms or tops but not the set in my size.

PG. UPDATE

HCG trigger shot is OUT of my system as of last night (POAS - neg.)

This means any + will be the real deal!!

Testing still 7/9 but will fudge to 7/8.

Crampy and bloated and it''s 98 degrees w/ high humididty.

PS - I''ve watched every episode of Spongebob Squarepants in the car.

Hope everyone''s getting fertilized promptly!!!

Lisa

Well, AF is here. Not super heavy, but she''s here. Feh. I''m alright with it though! More time to get in shape and stuffs. And DH has been super cute (I feel so lucky that I found him sometimes...he''s the most bestest evah!) So all is good. But I am bit disappointed...I wanted it to happen right away! I''m used to wanting something and working for it and getting it...but not so much here. Must learn patience.

Blen - I''m so sorry about your visit with your dad. That just plain stinks. It seems that when a dad gets an idea in his head for what his daughter should be, well, it is sometimes tough for him to take when the daughter decides otherwise. My dad had a pretty hard time accepting the fact that I had absolutely no desire to be a lawyer anymore...he was proud to say his daughter was a lawyer at a highfalutin'' law firm...even though I was miserable...maybe it is the same thing for your dad? For what it is worth, he''s slowly getting used to the idea...and I had to sort of realize that even if he never made himself okay with it, well, DH and I were okay with it (ecstatic, really) and that is what really matters...ya know?

I''m also sorry about your puppinski. There is nothing worse than seeing one of the pups in pain. Heartbreaking really.

Can you go do something nice for yourself? Manicure? Pedicure? Massage...something? That sort of craptacular couple of days totally calls for it! and you totally deserve it...in my opinion! Oh, and lots of sticky dust for you!!!!

Lisa - So glad they have the internets in OK. hehee. I''ll be thinking super awesome sticky vibes for you. Oh, and I''m sorry Olivia is sick. That stinks. And I have to tell you that at 98 degrees, I''d be wearing an unmatched bathing suit if necessary. Shoot, I''d wear just about anything...humidity is the devil!!!
