The new age Robin Hood... stealing from the poor to give to the rich.

I'm deeply saddened by the advancement (and likely passage) of the "Big, S̶h̶a̶m̶e̶f̶u̶l̶ Beautiful Bill." I encourage everyone to unbiasedly research the inherent repercussions to low-income households. By slashing Medicaid/ACA, education, and social services, which, in turn, will fund tax breaks for, you guessed it, corporations, the fossil fuel industry, and the wealthy, we will be widening the ever-growing wealth gap (i.e. the root of just about every problem we have in this country). Naturally, they threw in a few crumbs for news networks to tout and use as a diversion, such as federal tax exemptions on tips and overtime. What they didn't tell you was that tipped workers make up only about 2.5% of the workforce, and those who do earn meager overtime wages make up only about 12% of the workforce. Of course, workers will still have to pay all FICA taxes, along with state and/or local taxes. Further, a whopping 40% of tipped workers don’t even make enough money to have to pay federal income tax on their earnings. And yet, still no raise in the minimum wage to provide working people with a livable income. Why? Because it would make an actual difference... but not for the "right" people. It's difficult not to be angry with those responsible for voting-in these executives and legislators, but I'm still determined to try and make a difference rather than wallowing in my fury. Indeed, those voters include family and friends who I love immensely (and unconditionally).

I don't want to start a war with this post... but this has been weighing heavily on my heart. I appreciate the opportunity to vent to a community I respect.

I just watched TLDR's video on it. It does seem concerning, even in this short form content.

This is the worst and most damaging piece of legislation I have seen in my lifetime. Absolutely shameful!

I dont understand
1) why some people are voting for it and then saying they didnt read it or they dont agree with it. Isn't that the point? You read it, and if you dont agree you dont vote for it?
2) how some people in high up positions are allowed to straight up lie about what's in it. How many times has it been said that this bill "strengthens medicaid" when its just straight up cutting it? How is cutting $1,000,000,000,000.00 strengthening it?

I've seen headlines calling it the biggest wealth transfer upwards (poor to rich) in american history. For the top 0.1%, they will be almost $300,000 richer each year due to tax breaks. That is almost 10x more than the average american MAKES in a year.

My guess would be party affiliations and dependency.

3.3 trillion added to the national debt in this bill. So anyone who thinks this helps to pay down the debt is misinformed. Large tax breaks for big oil corporations (that he promised in return for election “support”) along with rolling back environmental protections, free to pollute our air and water and make us and the planet sicker. Long list of assaults to American’s unless in the upper income brackets. It will be very eye opening for many who voted for this.
It’s really stick’n it to our grandchildren’s generation and beyond.

Yeah, it was more rhetorical  . We all know they don't actually care about the people they are representing, otherwise they wouldn't vote to defund millions of their constituents' health care.

There is also misinformation being spread about the bill (by someone who's job it is to inform with facts ). They are purposely hiding things in it to push it through with the other big things that they use as tag lines. Billionaires don't need tax cuts.

It also has very worrying similarities to the legislation that let Hitler loose. https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/the-enabling-act

50,000+ people will die per year from lack of care. Including children.
It will kick more than 17 million off of care because it ends the ACA subsidies many more rely on to buy insurance on the market.
The current estimate is 1000 rural hospitals will close.
1 in 4 nursing homes.
Head start, SNAP, afterschool programs, lunches for children etc. all gone.
Most social protections will be gutted.

The estimate is around 5 trillion if temporary provisions are made permanent.
The biggest debt explosion and wealth theft from the people in history.

It helps no one but the rich.
We're already negative 0.5% GDP growth last quarter.
It will likely cause the GDP to retract to the point of recession and possibly depression.
Tariffs haven't even begun yet.
Up to 100K jobs will be lost within the year, that's already started. The cascade will cause many more over the next several years.
No FEMA for the upcoming storm season.
People are already taking loans to buy food. Food scarcity and increased prices from lack of harvesting/imports. Millions will starve. Evictions will skyrocket. Crime will explode from desperation. The birthrate will plummet year over year.
You can choose to read possible outcomes, or not. It's just a quick overview of some of the most immediate.
It is the singularly most stupid, greedy and shortsighted thing we could possibly do.
People have no idea how this will truly negatively impact them. No idea.
How badly they were lied to.
They will. Soon.
