I can't link to it, b/c it's a flash website.

But go to the Graff website
Go to the engagement rings section
Click on the 4th panel.

Why am I sending you there? How does a large, fully saturated, vivid blue diamond ring sound to you....in an ASSCHER cut?

Dzop,
I encourage you to look at Arther Langerman's blog too. The colored diamonds are mainly loose in his photos, but he has some links to prestigious fancy blues and some from his own company. There are colors of diamonds I never knew existed until I saw his blog. Check out his blog archives too.

Graff has some amazing stuff, no doubt about that.

Rather than a blue, I think I would cut off my right arm to have one of these fancy violets.

TL, this makes Langerman's blues look like the muddy waters of the Amazon. I figured out how to make a screen grab. Check out the saturation on this diamond...it puts most sapphires to shame.

dzop,

The round image is a Tino Hammid and it looks suspiciously like a tarted up version of the image in Harvey Harris's book Fancy Colored Diamonds, I mean how many ideal round blues do you think exist in the world. All the images in that book were enhanced, at least all of Harvey's. As for Graff, take a look at the official image of the Wittelsbach and compare it to the one **edited by moderator. No self-promotion or discussion of blogs allowed**. Graff is famous for cranking his images. The real Wittelsbach is distinctly gray. I don't believe that emerald cut either and I do believe in Santa Claus.

Best,

Oh Kenny that 8star puts the graff to shame. I think you've found your stone!

oh, oh,
RW is going into "fancy" colored diamond business.
Cao,
Valentino

I already have a blue diamond obsession and this thread is NOT helping

While in Honolulu in March, I got to hold a 4.25 carat natural fancy deep grayish violet radian cut VVS1 diamond ring. I amost had a heart attack. I think it was around 6,000,000.oo if memory serves. THAT was an amazing moment!

oh my, sorry about that... was trying to edit and triple posted

That's okay.
That's such an expensive stone that the price won't fit into just two posts.

Dzop, firstly my apologies to you for what I am about to say as this is your thread, but .......

Valentino, I have just read through all 14 of your posts since arriving at Pricescope. Normally, I would leave a long standing member of this forum such as Mr Wise to respond to such a remark himself. As my dear Mum used to say about me, "Mr Wise is big enough and ugly enough to fight his own battles (no disprespect intended Mr Wise, just an time-honoured British saying).

However, almost without exception your posts have been negative at best and seemingly directed against one vendor or another.

I have no idea if you are a disgruntled consumer or a jealous competitor, but do the rest of us a favour Buddy and knock it off. It's tired already.

That color, fancy violet, is incredibly rare, much rarer than blue in the colored diamond world. They are both around 30 points if I remember correctly, but if you want rare, and beautiful, there you go. :))

OH NO! We've lost Kenny again! :o

Come back, Kenny, come back. . . think sapphires . . .

You know, Kenny, if you want a real challenge, try for an unenhanced ruby. That will keep you busy for a really long time . . .

A nice asscher in a man's ring . . .

Nope, I know exactly where to find one of those. Come to think of it, Mr Dery (Lapidary Royalty) has some pretty nice sapphires too:

Here is a picture of the Wittelsbach I took recently at the Smithsonian. It is unmanipulated (and sadly out of focus - too much sparkle and crowds for my little camera) and the stone is clearly grey (although not quite as dark in real life and with a few more twinges of blue). The window, though, is exactly as pictured :naughty:

For comparison, here's the Hope.
