I''ve heard of these before. What next, live jeweled spiders?

oh my!!!

I''m no bug enthusiast, but that just seems wrong.

Seems like a clear case of cruelty to insects.

Poor beetle!

I seem to recall hearing about people wearing live beetles as jewelry... maybe back in victorian times?

I have to tell you a funny story.

I have aquariums and a few years ago I went to the house of a woman who was selling big yellow snails. She invited me in and we had coffee. Her house is awash with tanks, cages, birds and animals of all descriptions.

So I am sitting on her floor looking at her tank of snails and alternatively looking up at her (she''s sitting beside me on a chair).

I should say at this point that I noticed a fairly unusual hairslide in her hair when she answered the door, but didn''t really take much notice.

All of a sudden the said hairslide began to walk off her head on to her shoulder. Well I freaked completely and leapt what seemed to be a good 15 feet in the opposite direction, straight on top of her poor unsuspecting dog. What a fiasco.

It was some kind of lizzardy thing. Don''t know for sure, I''m not good with reptillian creatures.

People do odd things, or as they say in the north of England, "There''s nowt so queer as folk"

Gross.
Ditto, that is seriously gross!

I think I should be appalled but... I''m conflicted. Do I feel badly for the exploited beetle or the person who thought this was haute fashion? I guess the beetle?

I mean if someone wanted to glue gemstones to me and wear me around on gemstone shopping trips, should I be offended?

Un unh. Not me. No thank you. I am afraid I would not be gracious if someone gave me one as a gift. That creeps me out. I am surprised there are not insect activists complaining about that. Granted I do not like insects, but how do they get the gems to stay on? Hot glue? I mean it has got to be something the bug does not appreciate.

Seriously one of the weirdest things I''ve ever seen. I showed df and emphasized the DO NOT WANT message.

That''s definitely different....

Well, I just know for a fact, that that''s not for me....

oh wow this is foul...."wander about her sweater"

makes my skin crawl!!

Ugh, disgusting!! Where have I seen this before though? Was it on America''s Next Top Model or something?

Oh my goodness...

Ew.... that''s just plain weird.

When this lady dies, maybe she will come back as a beetle forced to wear hot glued jewels on her back.

wrong on several levels!

something like this was on an episode of CSI. the story line was something along the lines of a new restaurant opened up and a food critic who really hated the guy wore something like that and he wouldn''t serve her/kicked her out, something weird, someone died, etc etc...
