The Monopoly Game...and the year 2010 Modern Day Update

Wow...what I would give to have the opportunity to play my brother in Monopoly again! I know he hasn''t seen this article. I will buy up all his castoffs...then show him the updated version to him. I would clean up! Finally after all these years I really can beat him.

Yes, slightly dishonest, and I would be guilty of insider trading, but I think he is guilty of years of cheating. He was always the banker after all. And always ended up with the get outta jail card. It had to have clipped corners.

What was your favorite piece? (I liked the scotty dog...was it a scotty dog? Well, it was a critter. So it was me.)

Did you have to fight for your piece?

I haven''t looked at the article yet - I''m pretty good at monopoly, I play by the rules but I stretch them to the limit. It''s the ONE game I am a really sore loser about and I gloat really bad when I win - no one will play with me any more lol (or they gang up which pisses me off haha) Alas, I play on the phone and win *every* time - boring now... can''t wait to read this article.

Oh - and I liked the hat

We never had the horse...ours was from maybe the 60''s? Perhaps he galloped off? Mom would sometimes use...PS is going to love this...one of her rings! Or the iron. Or a Sorry board game red thing.

I used to try to fit the thimble on my pinkie. Brother was always the race car. Unless he wanted to mess with me. He would make me buy the scottie dog. Said it was the way it was done, "Bankers Rules you know!"

It was such a simple time...monopoly and pretending to have all that money was so cool.

Wonder if the thrill would return? Click my heals three times and surely it would be!

Ahh, Monopoly. Good times and bad. Mostly I remember it for being a long game to play.

It has a round board and an ATM thingy in the middle, and you slide a card!

What's the point if you can't steal from your neighbour/the bank? Really!

My sister and I just wanted to play Monolopy and had fun going round and round the board. On the other hand our little brother would buy up consecutive parts of the board and fill it up with houses and hotels so it would be like a landmine; if we landed there we''d be bankrupt. I know that''s the point of the game but it seemed so mean. But sometimes he would lend us money for other deals and let us keep playing for awhile, but yes he would end up with everything.

He is one of those people who is just good at games. He''s been into videogames for awhile. If he wants to play a game it''s not good enough for him to survive to the end. He will methodically go through all the levels it until he knows everthing about it and has completed everything. I don''t understand how that''s even fun.

Honestly, I didn''t even know this was a game you could win. We always just went around and around and around until we got bored.

We would play this game f or days on end! No one wanted the game to be over so we''d loan each other money and sell property to each other at a discount!! We had to take turns being the banker and my brother and I learned a lot of math that way! My favorite piece was the horse, but he got lost. Then I''d try to be the ship but someone would take it so I usually ended up being the thimble. There was also a dog, a boot, and a car. I remember the car looked like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Monopoly also caused the greatest fights of my childhood.
