I had never heard of this instrument.
Beautiful.
Also I love the rhythms, melodies, and harmonies from West Africa.

I never heard of the kora, either. The music was gorgeous. Was that West African music? It sounded like baroque music or old English folk music to me as well! Perhaps those types of music have roots in West Africa? (I have eclectic taste in music, but am by no means a music historian, so I wouldn't know!)

At any rate, thank you for sharing. That was truly beautiful.
 
I'm with Deb it sounded like something you would hear at a Medieval feast or something....
 
I love West African music.
Several years ago, at a festival, I heard a band from Senegal. I was hooked.
The rhythmic beats and beautiful language are magical.
I can spend all day listening to West African music on Youtube. Good stuff!
