After taking the advises from PC members. I turned down both cushion diamonds that were available to me last week.
And practicaly glued to the computer going through threads after threads of cushion discussion to learn as much as I can.

Truth to be told, I still don''t know how to set the "good cushion cut" and "bad cushion cut" diamonds apart when I see them.
I know that I am color senstive, don''t really care much about clarity as long as I don''t see the incuision with naked eyes.
I don''t see the whole depth thing. When I looked at cushion pictures from Jamesallen website, I notice that all the cushion cut diamonds that I like are these two cut styles.

Now that I come accross with another diamond that meets my requirements/budget through an online vender.
I''d like to ask your opinions on this one. See photo below.

Thank you for your help!

This is the one that is available to me now.
Judging by the pictures, can anyone give me some feedback?

It looks beautiful to me, but I''m no cushion expert.

If you like the look go for it.

But, If you have done any compairing they look small. A 3ct cusion cut will look like a 2.25 carat of any other shape.

I like to get my moneys worth for the look. But that is me and there are plenty of people that buy the cushion cuts "see featured guests"

My wife was saying that Hollywood is advertizing the heck out of them. I told her that everyone I get in the people say "That looks small"!

But, I sell them.

Just my 2 cents you asked for :)

Enjoy the hunt my friend and Take Care.

The IS looks fine for a fancy. There is some light leakage but that is to be expected.

Are those dots surface graining or something? Or just dust? It would bother me because I want an excellently polished stone, but that's a personal thing.

All that matters is that YOU love it.

And above, where you said you don't know how they're different until you see them? THAT is why you need to make the decision with your own eyes.

Best of luck!!!

I am sorry..., its not that simple... too much of a general comment!

According to the pics It looks like a shallow cut....
I think a smaller table and a bit of a higher CA would compliment this stone....

Look at your example A..., looks like a table % of approx. 50%...., much better!

It does look shallow, but I am no cushion expert.

And about cushions facing up smaller...yes, they do. My cushion is 1.03 and faces up 6.1x5.9. A well cut one carat RB faces up 6.5. But finding one with comparable color/clarity as my current cushion would have been quite a bit more expensive for a nice cut. I found that cushions were a bit cheaper per carat and if I wanted to spend the money that would have gotten me the 1 ct round, I also could have gotten a cushion that faces up just as big.

TG, If you measure the diagonal distance on your Cushion (from corner to corner)...., it should reach a measurement of approx. 7.2mm.
Which is more than the 6.5mm. of a RB. (6.5 all around.)

Yes, I thought about that since I really do feel like my cushion faces up almost big as my friend''s 1.09 round (which is a bit deep so it faces up more like a carat). But I''ve never had a careful look to see how it really does compare.

I think this is sometimes true but I think it is overstated around here sometimes... and like I mentioned in another thread, I think square cushions have more issue with this than longer ones.
