The job dust keeps working...

Alright ladies (and gents) quick update... I just got back from a 5 hour job shadow (aka 3rd interview) for my company I am interviewing with.....

They said they will call the candidates in a week or so to let us know what the "next step" will be.

Need a bit more dust to carry me to the "finish line"

That is so cool that you had an opportunity to "job shadow." How did you feel it went? What did you think of the job after the shadow? Did you find it to be helpful to you?

In grad school, professors called this is a realistic job preview and I wish more organizations did this, as it not only helps them to select the best candidate, but it also helps candidates understand what they might be getting into.

Well, I did get a phone call today!

They wanted me to complete a background check today but didn''t tell me if I was hired yet......

I ASSUME that means that they would most likely want to offer me the position because they probably wouldn''t waste their time on someone who they didn''t want to hire, right?


I am almost at the end of my job serch hopefully!!!!

How did I feel it went?:
It was cool, I got to see how a real-time operation did things although I felt 5 hours to be too short to tell.

What did I think of the job after the shadow?:
It was definitely what I expected.The company gives an accurate job description.

Did you find it to be helpful to you?
Yes, it was helpful to be able to work with real customers, in the real environment! I also got to understand a bit of the corporate structure and culture.
