The "Ideal Pattern" of the Ideal scope

Hi,

I am a newbie here. I have been reading about idealscope and what it supposed to look like.

I saw an interesting diamond here.

However, I find it interesting that the idealscope pattern is a bit different from others I have seen.

What I meant is, between each pair of inner arrows, there are two little triangular black dots.

I haven't noticed this black dots in most ideal scope. This is an ACA which should be the top cut so these shouldn't be a problem I suppose.

In the ASET image it also shows those dots in between the inner arrows.

Do these black dots imply an even closer to ideal pattern (i.e. even a better symmetry in cut)?

Should I go for diamond with this ideal scope patterns with these black dots?

Thanks a lot.

Those dots become bigger and more noticeable as LGF increases. Presence or absence of the dots does not imply it is better or worse in any way

LGF?

Is that listed on the GIA cert? What number is good?

Seriously though Surely, (dont call me Shirley) At this level of cut quality you will find many different patterns that all produce stunning stones. But the greatest variable is the structure of the ideal-scope. The darkness comes from the size of the lens hole in the pink reflector. Make it bigger and you get more dark spots popping up. AGS use 2 different models - a little bigger and a lot bigger for their blue part which is equivalent to the black in the IS.

But those little black bits you point out are so small that you could never really tell the difference between a stone with them or without

Haha, thank you. I''ll take it as a compliment for a newbie. :)

It''s good to hear that I am overanalyzing. At least one less thing to worry about.

Thanks.

Its better to overanalyze than to underanalyze

Its better to overanalyze than to underanalyze
true that up too a point

To overanalyze, or not to overanalyze: that is the question:
Whether ''tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The hearts and arrows of outrageous symmetry,
Or to underanalyze IS images against a sea of troubles,
And by doing so, end them?...apologies to W.S.
