Jeez, I felt that I was very calm throughout the whole process of the buy, and now that I''m paid off, I''m like a friggin'' mess over here. Granted I have more on my mind then just getting the ring, but it''s not like she''s going to say "no!"

Never did I think that around 3 1/2 weeks to go to Precision Set and back would feel so long, and it''s only been 8 days now! Here''s hoping for an early return

I completely understand where you are coming from. It''s even worse in my case because I just completed my purchase and still have 90 days to go before I present it to her. I decided to start looking and researching way ahead of time, and after several months I finally found the right ring/stone. I feel relieved that part is over, but right now 90 days seems like a million years

Imagine this though. When I bought my wife her engagement ring I allowed for too much time. So I received the ring a few months ahead of time. I already had a specific idea and date of when I was going to pop the question. I had to keep that ring from her for weeks. It was one of the most emotionally toiling events of my life. It was burning a hole in me daily because I wanted to go ahead and ask the question and present the ring. However, I didn''t want to mess up my great idea by giving into my impatience. So luckily by the grace of God I held off until the planned day and everything went perfect. Having the ring ahead of time well before I wanted to propose was one of the hardest things to get through, because you already have the ring and its hard to keep it all to yourself. So I feel your pain guys. Patience must be the hardest virtue.....

mrmedoes,

That's funny because I recently placed an order which is going to Precision Set as well.. I got an email from GOG that my order was in a Precision Set this past Tuesday... it has only been two days and I feel like its been a century.
I spent like months lurking here and doing research - then finally found a diamond that I liked.. bounced emails back and forth. Finally found a setting and now the waiting game begins...

I'm still nervous about the diamond selection and the Precision Set ring I picked. Jonathan and the rest of the team at Good Old Gold have been great though. This is by far my biggest purchase online - well pretty much offline as well.

Just curious - which Precision Set ring did you pick?
Mine is attached below.

Good luck!!

I think my favorite part is that you''re almost in the same dilemma as me, except that mine went in from GOG last Wednesday (the 20th), so I''m a little closer

I got the ring that I attached, but slightly different in that it doesn''t go all the way around. It''s only something like .15 tcw, but just enough to catch someone''s eyes. There was another Precision Set setting that I loved, but it was just too much for my budget, and faced with the choice of waiting or doing it with the money I had, I chose to move forward. That being said, I also had a stone picked out that I think was awesome, so it made the choice easier.

I hear you about still being slightly nervous. While I''ve bought larger things in my life, I can honestly say that this has the highest cost versus size amount!

Good luck!
