Is a short summary 'the period of enforced reflection means we now see how bad we all were and we will live happy shiny lives and hug more trees from now on (assuming we have a job to go back to and won't be living on the streets)'?
This is nice in theory and maybe I am just too pessimistic. I worry about "the new normal" (hate that phrase btw) and that this virus will be the catalyst of widespread surveillance and loss of freedom in the U.S. all wrapped in a pretty package called "the greater good".
Yes there will be some people who will think to call their parents more and to slow down, use their devices less and all the other feel good stuff. However a lot of people will need to adjust to having to find employment, figuring out life after the COVID death of a loved one, trying to rebuild their lives that were abruptly changed.
I just can't embrace the coming changes but what choice will we have really? Life is not a ride you can just stop and get off but believe me I would if I could.
