And the same technology from ATI is upcoming which will drive prices down as well as increase performance.
Soon motherboard chipsets will be available that will allow them to add 4x as many cores boosting performance by a factor of 4.

Enough computing power to start to tackle the scintilation problem.
Production speed full 3D modeling for rough planning all in one computer.
Greater precision allowing the use of several million ray paths rather than a simplified model of a few thousand.
