So now i have my phone working and ive worked out how to post picture to PS

but right now the board seems full of high end pearls
which i do enjoy looking at very much and there is much salivating going on


but im just having fun with cheap pearls right now -although i do have delusions of grandeur
anyway i dont think they belong on many of the threads here right now but they are still pearls, made by a mollosk

please i would love to see everyone's pearls
anyway im going to open with something im not buying

but why do i love these ?

they are like the opposite of PS pearls

There’s still a place for gnarly pearls. Just look at Kasumi pearls.

Fun thread. I have so many pearls most of them not with us at the shore but back in NYC...I never wear pearls. In fact my dh's wedding gift to me was a gorgeous pearl and diamond necklace but at that time I didn't want it and we returned it for something else after the honeymoon. These photos are from years ago because I no longer wear any pearls. I have so many pearl necklaces, earrings and bracelets. One day I will get them and photograph them but in the meantime this is all I have to share



These are antique pins from a dear family friend and from my parents

















And no one wears them better than my dh

That was my necklace I made when the late Queen's funeral was on
It's left over freshness.
Left over Whitby but maybe Navajo jet and some old corral beads that needed to be used for something
with a magnetic clasp

We just got these new orange coke shirts at work
I will try and take a better picture at home tonight

We have seen these before but I wanted to compare the luster if any with the Micheal hill mall jeweler pearls I originally brought for daisy pearl necklace. They were not white enough because I got nicer daisy charms
The green is moss agait
See the mall jeweller prarls that cost over $300 dont look any better than the $80 odd NZ dollars of the Wen pearls

i have that covid brain thing going on with the short term memory loss thing
anyway anyway
my friend Wendy is the local post office courier for the suburbs surrounding my work,
her last few calls of the day are the grocery shop next to work (its a postal agency) clearing the post box and then clearing a retro looking box that looks like R2D2 at the bottom of the hill, then to the depo before the truck to Palmerston north leaves at 5.30
she lives further down the line from me so she has been dropping me home
anyway she is a very kind lady and its nice to have a new friend

she wears lots of timu earrings but has the most amazing diamond wedding ring stack that would look right at home here on PS, it sparkles like crazy in the sun

anyway i thought i might make her a necklace,
i have been super impresssed with wen's pearls i brought to complete my daisy pearl necklace


She is such a fun lady i wanted to make it casual but super pretty
but dam it ! my chosen central element is now out of stock

but the ss W charm is currently on special

its the shipping from North America that kills things
with a clasp like this, however my the time i factor in shipping it might just be eaiser to get my jeweller to use one of his clasps that he makes

anyway im thinking about this now as a central element


anyway so im looking at alturnatives that wont break the bank
i like this but im not crazy over the cz's, more so that it might fall out rather than anything else



im ok wiith enamel for a pop of colour
anyway thoughts?

Ha, a lot of my pearls are inexpensive pearls I bought to practice stringing. I still wear them now and then.

I'm still wearing mine! I have those cultured dyed black pearls that I bought awhile back and started trying to teach myself to string with since I don't deserve, nor can afford the nice tahitians lol. Sadly the stringing is still not good lol. But the wire wrapped tin cup style pearl I've improved a little bit on the wrapping. But Ive been lazy and not been practicing lately. Just been wearing my little home made tin cup as it is and my mom's little pearl cage with a black pearl in it. I keep meaning to take pictures but I keep forgetting.
