Hello All,
I have been a stalker for months and months. I have learned so much from you guys. Ok here are my spec''s.
GIA 1.75 H, SI2,EX,EX,EX,no fluo
Table 57
Depth 61.9
Crown Angle 53.0
Pavilion Angle 41.0
HCA score 2.2

The occulsions are in the center. I cannot see with my eyes from top, but can see from bottom.

GIA 1.70 H, SI2, EX, EX, EX, no fluo
Table 58
Depth 61.1
Crown Angle 34.5
Pavilion Angle 40.6
HCA score 1.2

I cannot see with my eyes occulsions.

Which would be your pick? Both same price. By the way, I am planning on a legato head solitaire solid plat. ering.

Cannot thank you enough in advance for your comments. I have grown to respect everyone on this forum.

What are the physical dimensions, girdle variation, star and lower facet number please? Is Idealscope image available for the 2?

From these numbers alone, I would pick 2. If there are data are requested and an IS image is available, I might change my pick.

Are these from a Brick store?

#1 Diamond
1.75 GIA H SI2, EX, EX, EX, no fluo
7.72x7.73x4.78mm
Round Briliant
Medium Faceted
None - Cutlet

#2 Diamond
1.70 GIA H SI2, EX, EX, EX, no fluo
7.64x7.70x4.69mm
Round Briliant
Medium - Slightly Thick Faceted
None Cutlet
I keyed in the HCA incorrectly. This HCA score is .9 (sorry)

I do not know what star is or lower facet. One diamond is from Bluenile and the other is from Whiteflash. I have #1 in my hand now, but I am second guessing myself now and might want #2 since the HCA score is better. It would mean I would have to return the diamond I just bought. Why oh why did I look after I made my purchase I will never know. Guess I was trying to make sure "I got a good deal". I do not have an ideal scope on either.

tks for responding!

Definitely #2 if its a .9

Personally I put cut before carat.

Plus there won't be a very visible size difference between 5 hundredths of a carat (1 thousandth of a gram).

I take it the crown angle on the first diamond is 33 not 53? From the info given I would pick the second one.

Also as these are SI2 clarity it is very important to know what the clarity setting inclusions are such as cloud, feather etc, it will mention on the report on the map diagram of the diamond, can you check what the grade making inclusions are and report back please? The reason I am asking is if it is clouds then these can sometimes impact brilliance in SI2 clarity grades. If you could post the star and lower girdle facet percentages which will also be on the diamond diagram ( usually something like 50% and 75%) that would help but both have good proportions which is the most important thing so I am not overly concerned.

Correction: 1.75 diamond has a crown angle of 35 not 53.

#1 Diamond 1.75
Cloud & Crystal slightly off center but in the middle
2 feathers on edge
50% and 80%

#2 Diamond 1.70
Twinning whips = one across the center and one on the side
Crystal, feather and needle are all on the edges.
55% and 75%

I feel so torn, thank you for looking at it.

Are you sure? Cuz size does matter! When you want a 2 and cannot afford it, I keep trying to figure out how I can get the largest, but keep telling myself how much cut matters.

Thank you. The crown angle makes a difference, so definitely prefer the second one.

Carat weight does not always directly relate to size, you would notice very little difference in size between these two. Also if you go with the WF diamond assuming the second diamond is theirs, they offer a trade up policy on some of their diamonds so you might be able to upgrade and get that 2 carat at a later date.

Just to check, which vendor has each diamond, is the first with BN, the second with WF? With the first diamond if it is from WF then really an image called Idealscope is needed for that 35/ 41 angle combo, without it we have no way of telling if this diamond will leak light and not sparkle well.

I guess I will have to go and check the website. But are you saying bluenile does not offer trade up nor idealscopes?

Thats right.

Here is the IS from whiteflash for the GIA 1.70 H SI2 Ex,Ex,Ex, no fluo stone. What do you think?

Here is the AST. I have been so happy talking to whiteflash. I do not have the setting and diamond in hand yet, but so far VERY happy with their customer service. You can get a better deal online and much better selection!

It looks fabulous. If eyeclean, I'd say it's a winner!

Edit, I take it you bought it then, by your last comment? Congrats!

Looks good to me.

Ditto, GORGEOUS diamond and if it is now yours, many congrats!!!

Thanks Ellen & StoneCold. I am ordering the "lynnb" ring with the legato scallop head. Unfortunately I spent too much on my diamond and had to exclude the diamonds down the side of the band. Using a solid plat band for the r-ing and the w-ring.

I am already planning my next purchase to be a w-ring with the fish tail pave. (but we will keep that a secret for now

).

I was so nervous about making this purchase AND returning a 9K ring to an online vendor at the same time. My nerves have been completly racked! I was perparing myself for what you guys would say this am about my images. Thanks again for being so kind.

I will send pictures of the real deal on my fat little finger soon as I get it!

Aw, I love Lynn''s ring, and I''m sure your modified version will be just as pretty. As far as I know, no one has done that, so you will be a first.

I''m really anxious to see it!

And I know you wanted a big stone, but really, that is a lovely size, and no small potato itself!
