Ugh...I''m really having a rough time with the wedding stuff right now. I guess it''s better that things rough now that later.

My Jim Hjelm replica dress came in! It looks just like it, minus the sash which I will be getting another one to replace it. No biggie. The dress was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but the USPS guy never showed up at my office (see my post about my ring...just wasn''t my day). So I just picked it up, par for the course so far in my planning

I guess.

So here is the problem, actually, it''s two fold.

1.) I can''t zip it all the way, how fast do you think the human body can lose about 5-10lbs? When I gave my dressmaker my measurements over 2 months ago, I was smaller but with the holidays, I fell off the working out wagon and I''ve gained a about 6lbs of it back. Since Sept, I had already lost 15lbs (even with the 6lbs back). I am about 10lbs from my goal right now.

2.) The dress is exactly at the right length with my shoes, however, the hem is not finished because my dressmaker thought it need to be hemmed. I''m not sure if the length is being affected by the fact I cannot zip all the way. I think at max, it would only need a 1/2" hem. Do you think it''s worth having it hemmed or leave it be? It''s a beach wedding, and the hem isn''t that noticeable. But would it look bad not hemmed?

I''m going to put up some pics in just bit, my camera battery is dead. I''m not sure what to do, I think I will lose the weight---have any other brides gotten their dress and it didn''t fit cause it was too small? Did you let it out? I''m not sure that my dress can be let out because of the lace.

Cupcake, I''m glad your dress is here! Is there any way to have it let out in the back so you can zip it up? I think that you can definitely lose 5-10lbs but it all depends on you. You don''t want to starve yourself you know? When''s the wedding? You can probably lose a pound a week safely, but you have to be really strick about your diet and your workout. As for getting it hemmed, I would get it hemmed unless your reception is at the beach as well. Then no one would notice with all the sand. If you''re ok with having it stay unhemmed, then leave it be, but I''m finicky and that would be something that would probably drive me nuts. Well, Good luck, Sweetie! I have faith that you can lose the weight!

Thanks Luckyeshe, I am attaching pics of the hem. I think I will ask that my alterations lady do the smallest hem possible. As for the dress, I will continue doing the workouts and eating right. But I am going to ask my alterations lady if she can let it out just in case. I think in April we will know for sure what I need. I just feel really down. This and the ring got me all depressed

ooops, let's try that again, excuse the messy room. The lace needs to be steamed so it will stand up. It's flat from the shipping.

I was measuring the dress and looks like the measurements are smaller than what I had given her....yikes! It does look gorgeous and all the hand bead work she did is beautiful! I might change out the sash to a blue one to match the girls. Would that be too much? Jim Hjelm's sash is the same color as the dress. What do you think?

Well, more motivation to work out I guess

Let's hope this is the last of my wedding problems, I might not be able to take anymore !

it''s beautiful!!!

Dear cupcake,

First of all, your dress is lovely. If both the wedding ceremony and the reception are going to take place at the beach, then you shouldn''t worry about the gown not being hemmed. I honestly believe that it won''t show at all. As far as your weight is concerned, let me tell you that my cousin had the exact same problem and she managed to lose the weight and look gorgeous in her gown! She was telling me that for the first time after years she felt so extremely motivated to watch her diet and work out, that she finally managed to get rid of those eight pounds with which she had been struggling for so long! I''m confident that you''ll make it and everything will be alright!
And keep in mind that you''re not the only one with wedding problems...believe me, we all have more of those than we need....

What a pretty dress!

I would get a small hem, maybe, if you''re concerned about it. Of course, you''re not going to be able to tell with sand, etc...

As far as getting it let out, just how much zipper can you not zip? If it''s the part around your ribs, I would consider getting it let out. I don''t think you can lose that much weight around your rib cage area. In general, you look to be about my size. I find it very hard to lose more than 3 lbs. at a time with my body type. The smaller you already are, the harder it is to lose large amounts of weight, IMO. Also, it''s just a lot of pressure to put on yourself. If you do decide to try to get the weight off, just do it safely. Stay away from diet pills!

Good luck with it all!

The dress looks amazing on you! I agree with you needing to get it hemmed the smallest possible. Don''t stress. You''ll be able to fit in your dress. It should be possible to let it out just in case. You can do it, cupcake!

Sounds like you''ve had a rough week. As if wedding planning isn''t stressful enough, right? The dress is very pretty though, and I hope your seamstress has some good options for you.

Pretty dress. I think it looks great on. Good luck with the sizing issues. I''d get the hem fixed.

Thanks ladies~ I really do love the dress. I measured it and talked to the dressmaker, looks like she made it about 1.5" too small on purpose. Said something about it being a corset so she did that. I am sending her the dress and she will be fixing it and also hemming the dress and putting a bussel in for free. Thank god...I thought I needed to have a few ribs removed.

I was also developing a complex, but really, I''m a size 2/4, the dress fits a 0...what was she thinking? I am still planning on reaching my BFW (before FI weight) so that will put me at a 2...wish me luck! I feel much better now that I know it''s not me.

I am also going to order an ivory sash to replace the mocha colored one. I think a colored one might be too much? Anyone with opinions on this? The wedding colors are blues and purples.

Ahh... good that you found out she made it too small! And even better that she''s going to fix it.

(Also, I revoke my comment about you looking about my size- you''re much smaller than me! Ha Ha... guess my eyes had wishful thinking!). I think you can get some weight off if you really really want to, but at a size 2/4... there''s not much left to lose! Besides, the dress looks great on you already! I certainly wouldn''t get ribs removed- ha ha.

Good luck with everything!

I gained 10 lbs over the holidays...and I''m already back down. Nothing is a bigger motivator than trying on your dress and it not fitting....believe me. Nothing makes you cry more or try harder that''s for sure!

Sorry, but that dress needs hemming. I think when you get it a little dirty on the beach (no matter how careful you are it will happen) then the stitching will become noticable. It''s such a shame to have such a gorgeous gown and not have it finished properly.

As for the weightloss, sweetie, anything is possible! Put your mind to it, and get going! I have see a lot of brides do the 30 day shred or something like that? If you are not confident though, ask your seamstress what can be done to let it out a little.

Gorgeous gown BTW!

gorgeous dress! I''m glad your seamstress can fix it for you

BlingADing---Yup, I got it on Etsy. I did an Alchemy thing and I had about 25 dress makers bid on it. I ended up using Spookykittencouture because she came in at the price I wanted to pay ($550) with all hand sewn beading and crystals and shipping ($15). Also, she had sent me photos of her replicated Monique Lhuillier dress and some other designer dresses--I think the other one she showed me was a replica of a Lazaro. Anyways, even though it is too small, she is going to fix it when it gets closer to the wedding, hem the dress, and add the bussel for me for free. I think she is also going to do my bra cups that I just bought. All in all, a great way to go and it looks gorgeous in real life! I can't wait to wear it.

Also---on a the upside, I've already lost 3lbs!
