I know a few of you watch Chinese series so I'm starting this thread so that we can post recommendations/reviews on any Chinese series that we watch and enjoy.

I'm currently obsessed with The Starry Love. It is an absolutely hilarious Xian Xia (something that is usually a bit of an oxymoron as Xian Xia's are often tediously tragic).

Love this so much! I'm going to make a call and say it's my series of the year for 2023.

Immortal Samsara

Ok this was ridiculously tragic but the male lead reminded me so much of my husband, I swooned all over it for a good three months and kept chasing him while I was watching it.

Classic Xian Xia. Lots of tragedy and blood spitting.

Oh I loved this series!! It was such a tragic ending that they had to bring out an extended episode that was a "happy ending" to please the fans.

I really liked "you are my glory" which is a modern day drama.

I think there are some really good xian xia drama's coming up that I am excited about. I can only think of "song of the moon". I am sure others will come to mind hahaha I don't even have time to watch this. I wish I was chinese and didn't have to read subtitles hahaha.

Confession.....I was one of the lunatics raging online about the ending!!!

It was just so epic. The way they hurled themselves off that bridge. All those lingering stares. Poor hubby just takes it in his stride when I'm in the middle of one of these. I get into epic mode and start doing weird stuff!

Chinese dramas open a whole new world!!!

Hehe I don't understand Chinese either so I have it on while I'm doing chores. The good episodes (mushy romance parts) I save for when I'm having a cup of tea.

Try Starry Love if you can find 40 min a day. It is so so so so so good!!!! Soooooo good. And funny!!!

Oh have you watched love between fairy and devil? It was on Netflix. I really enjoyed that

40 episodes only!!!! Are you fussed about how things end? If you are, you can wait and I can tell you yay or nay to the ending when you're done! It will finish airing this Saturday!

Haven't seen LBFD but it's on my list. I was so enamored with Immortal samsara I kept rewatching!!!

Hahaha I think they are all around 40 episodes now because China put a limit on the number of episodes. I am not really fussed with how things end but I always watch half of it and then end up reading what happens next anyway HAHAHA.

YOU should watch LBFD!!!! Actually Netflix has a few good ones.. Word of Honour and Who Rules the World. But I liked LBFD the best!!!

Aww I have not rewatched anything, no time for that. But I occasionally skip through Eternal Love and Eternal Love of Dreams and skip through all the slow bits just to get a quick fix hahaha. Ashes of Love is another good one but that was LOOOOOOOONG like 60 episodes or something.

Short drama series each episode is less than 15 min. Total 25 episodes. They are still in middle of broadcast.

I wanted to report that I started Starry Love. And I am up to episode 35-36. I am thoroughly enjoying it and I got my SIL into it as well. She googled and said they are making a season 2!

Till the end of the Moon was a bust for me. Too many lifetimes and too much blood spitting. I zoned out after a while.

Am watching Back From the Brink while I exercise. It’s very humorous so far which is more to my taste I think. Horrible cgi but entertaining and the people are young and pretty.

I don’t know why because Immortal Samsara was ridiculous but I could take it seriously. TTEOTM is equally ridiculous but it just annoyed me. Maybe I’ve used up my dramatic Xian xia quota for a while.

Oh no... I haven't started TTEOTM yet, and don't know if I could get that invested hahaha took me almost two months to finish Starry Love (which I thoroughly enjoyed). I think I have used up all my xianxia quota too hahaha. Did you watch Love Between Fairy and Devil on Netflix?
