I recently visited a rather posh store with my boyfriend. We were only "looking" and dreaming – way out of our reach... They showed us the Caprice diamond. I''m not sure how it relates to the other hearts and arrow cut diamonds out there. Any comments good or bad - is it just another marketing ploy to charge top $$$? I really enjoyed staring at the diamonds...drool!

It looks like an ideal cut diamond. The name "Caprice" is probably just their brand name, like "Hearts on Fire," or "A Cut Above."

I don't know what kind of premium they are charging but I bet it's more than an "ACA."

I''m not really familiar with Hearts & Arrows so it''s nice to hear feedback and learn...

If they guarantee that every diamond sold is cut somewhere within those tolerances and with H&A symmetry at least as good as the H&A viewer example, good for them

Some combinations fall just outside the current AGS0 domain, but this doesn''t make them worse off, as far as I understand.

How are these diamond certified? How about prices? etc.

One thing about these H&A ideas: the cut is consistent enough to make them very comparable. Basically, you''re down to comparing prices, unless very keen on very, very fine hair splitting in terms of quality - most likely beyond what can be seen. There is some variation of looks among these diamonds due to minor facets and perhaps some other details. So there is still room for choice if you wish. I am not sure there is room for a BAD thing within those numbers though.

Just my 0.2, of course

I guess they forgot to mention some variation for the pavilion angle on the chart - if the pav. depth varies... it sort of follows.

Anyway, about those slightly different looks: the picture tried to explain what I had in mind. I would think such drawings exaggerate slight details if anything.

Hi Valeria -

Thank you for the information. I''ll review the chart later today and following with tons of questions (I''m sure of it!)

base on the picture you posted....that is not even a true H&A.

I scanned a brochure - it''s not an actual diamond.

I''ve never heard of the Caprice diamond. Pretty cool though.
