With big names in the industry like Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, etc...

Can you call them and get pricing information?

For example, Winston doesn''t publish any prices on the website. But can you call the local salon and get this information? Same thing with Tiffany and Cartier for engagement rings... can you call and give them desired specs for a stone to get a rough estimate?

I don''t want to call and look a dummy. :B But there are a few pieces I would like to know the prices for, and I don''t want to drive to the salon that on the other side of the state (or have to deal with the sales people face-to-face. I''m better on the phone.

yes. calling doesn't hurt to try.

When I was considering a Tiffany ring I called them up. I gave the lady my email address and she emailed me back that day with some price quotes.

Absolutely. I don't live anywhere near one but I've called HW in LA and received prices on rings that they had in stock.

Hah. I read somewhere that the least expensive pieces by Winston were $10,000, which I''m assuming is probably the solitaire pendants.
