Following from my other recent post, my thanks would not be complete without a post to thank all of the Pricescope members. I have today received my ring from Whiteflash and I will post hand shots one ‘the question’ has been asked.

I would like to particularly thank the long-term pricescope members – even if you did not respond directly to questions that I asked, simply having this forum with so much discussion and so many questions previously asked and answers so thoughtfully given really provided me with the confidence that I needed to make that all important purchase.

You will not ever know how much of a difference this forum has made to the my purchasing process.

6 months ago I knew nearly nothing about diamonds.

I though a carat was a vegetable;
I thought cut was what I did to cards at poker;
I thought setting was what I did to the table before dinner;
I thought round brilliant was the big, fat chemistry professor at my university;
I thought Princess was simply the nickname I have for my girl; and
the four 4 C’s were words that I wasn’t allowed to say around my nephews.

At the end of the day, when I’m on one knee saying ‘will you marry me’ I know that there will be a whole crowd of PS members hovering behind me impatiently demanding hand shots ……

Thankyou all,

Glad you found a gorgeous ring and you are right PS is a great place!!! What a nice post!!

Good lord and have mercy, DJQ. You did very well. Dayuuuum!!!!! That Katie and WF are really the best, huh? Thank you for the thank you, BTW. The best thank you we could have, however, is if you stick around PS and pass along your learning experience to the newbies and help us to keep this the jumping fun-loving educational experience that makes it a blast.

The ring is gorgeous and in one of my all-time favorite settings.

But that''s not really the reason I''m replying...it''s because I just have to tell you how clever your "carat was a vegetable..." bit was. Especially "round brilliant." That''s just awesome!

Shay37, I will, and have been, trying to pass on what I have learned - I am by no means a diamond expert (a complete novice actually) and have been trying to relay to people my experiences in the hope that they will help someone - just as I ahve been helped!

Back to work for me now

Thankyou all,

It''s kind of cheesy but your post brought a little moistness to my eye. (I''m cheesy, not your post).

Congrats on finding the girl of your dreams, congrats on finding the diamond and setting of your dreams.

I feel all goose-bumpy and proud (even though I don''t think I helped you one little bit) to be part of a great community that could make this wonderfully romantic occasion the best it could be (in diamond terms, the rest is up to you!)

All the best, and can''t wait to hear the full report!

Angeline, you will not know how much difference you, and every other PS member, has made to the process of buying this ring! It wasn''t just the people answering my specific questions - but the MILLIONS of other sentences and commments I read from posts all over this forum and the information I gleaned from reading, almost daily this forum!

I am on here everyday and I really love helping others find gorgeous stones, settings, etc. I especially love the fact that people come here, many with not a clue about diamonds, and then end up with a killer diamond and a competitive price. I feel so great when I can help someone out - I believe in spreading the love around. When I joined 12 months ago, I knew nothing, a diamond virgin so to speak, but now I get to pass on some of the knowledge I gained from spending way to much time here and it feels good to pay it forward.
