Thanking someone for lingerie... help!

I''m finishing up my bridal shower thank you notes and I''m stuck on one gift. I received lingerie (a negligee/babydoll) from one of FI''s cousins and besides saying "Thank you for the lingerie" I don''t know what else to say. You know how you''re supposed to say something about how you intend to use the gift? Well, um...

How do you say that without basically talking about your sex life with that person? lol

I think something like "FI is really going to appreciate it" is fine.

If you really don't want to talk about or even suggest its implications, something like "it fits perfectly!" or "this is the perfect addition to my closet" might work?

Oh my goodness, I don''t think I could even write "FI is really going to appreciate it" on a thank you card! You have some guts, girl!

I love the other suggestions--"it fits perfectly!" or "this is the perfect addition to my closet". I wrote a lot of "I adore the white ruffle" and "what a fabulous color" on the thank yous from my bachelorette party.

Another part of the problem is that actually, it doesn''t fit. At least not in the chest...

So I don''t really want to lie but I also have the problem that it''s not something I can use (at least, not unless I lose a lot of weight and I go down a cup size or two). I really appreciate that she got me something personal but it sucks because I can''t wear it and I''m not even sure where I could exchange it (there wasn''t a gift receipt, or if there was one, I can''t find it).

Would something like "It''s so cute and I really appreciate you getting me something more personal - that was very thoughtful of you" work?

hehe, just kidding. maybe you could say something like:

thank you so much for attending my bridal shower! the gift is wonderful and i so enjoyed seeing you! i''m so glad you were a part of such a memorable day!

I think any comment that acknowledges the specific gift and your gratitude for receiving it is perfect.

Thank you so much for the lovely lingerie. The color is to die for, and that white ruffle around the top--adorable! What a special piece to add to my collection.

It was such a treat to spend the afternoon with you. I cannot wait to celebrate with you in (Month of wedding).

Hmmm, I didn't get a thank you card at all for the lingerie I got my daughter.

But that would be really wierd anyway. "Um Mom, thanks for the black lace VS get up, my DH will love to see me struting my stuff in it!" (Besides we have matching ones and that was even more wierd. I really liked it though, thought I might use it in this decade.)

Yeah, there are some things I just don't want to know.

Except the "Due Date".
