My shower was recently, and one group of aunties joined forces in a pile of gifting-with one card and everyone''s names. Well, I''m not as organized as I wish I was, and now with my little checks as to who I''ve written notes for-I can''t tell/remember if I wrote one for her. Plus I''ve been mailing them out as I go. I''m leaning towards thinking I didn''t, but I feel like if she receives two it will come off as insincere. (There are only so may ways to write a note!)

What do you think of fessing up to my not knowing in the next (or first?) note?

I had this happen a few times with wedding thank you cards since we got gifts sprinkled over a long period of time. I would just write another one saying something like, "I am worried that I didn''t send a thank you card yet because I don''t have a record of it. I just wanted to make sure that you know how much I appreciate your gift."

I''m sure she will understand. Two thank you nots are better than none at all!

+1.

How about givign them a call?? I know its not the conventional route but the meanign is still the same.

That way if you did sent them a thank you note, this will just come across that you really liked their gift and wanted to thank them quickly once again.

Or if you didn''t send one to them, then they will just see it as you preferred to give them a call and tell them in person (so-to-speak) the big thank you .... in the end you can even follow up with a note if you want them to physically receive one.

But even if they were to receive 2 notes I don''t see it as anything bad. You just wanted to be thourough so no harm done there :)

Definitely send a thank you and if it''s a duplicate it''ll be better than missing someone. Most people understand that things can get confusing during a shower when it comes to writing down the gifts and gift cards getting separated from the gifts.
