Changing existing screw backs. One screw back unscrewed itself and dropped off :(( . When I got home the stud was dangling on my earlobe. Wow, that was scary!

Now I want to switch. I tried on La Pousettes today. The post is a lot thicker....too uncomfortable to get into my ear.

So now on to Tension Backs. QUESTIONS:

1. Has anyone ever lost a Tension Back??

2. Is there a certain type/manufacturer to ask my jeweler about?

Jo, did you ask about the thickness of the post on the la pousette? I ask because I have them and they are no thicker than the push back posts that the earrings came with (I switched to the la pousette). Of course, my stones are WAY smaller, so maybe the larger stones need a thicker post?

I also had thicker posts on my La Poussettes initially and *hated* them! :knockout: So I had my local jeweller shave down the posts and replaced the LP backs with jumbo backs. I haven't looked back since! These are THE best! :appl: I also have 2 grooves (instead of the usual 1) on my posts for extra security.

I am not aware of any particular manufacturer for push-backs but others may chime in with more infor. As far as I'm aware, any decent jeweller should be able to custom-make them for you. My posts are extra long, extra thin, have 2 grooves (as mentioned) and my backs are 10mm and 10.5mm in diameter (I have 2 sets).
