Temsion Setting

Hello all and thank you in advance for any advice you may give me.

I am in the beginning stages of planning the proposal and have a few questions about the most important part, the ring.

I love the look and designs of the tension set rings, but i have talked to a few jewelers that will not sell them becusae they are afraid of the stone coming out. I know they are held in with more force than a prong setting, but they said if you hit the diamond on one of the exposed sides, that it will come out of the setting.

One jeweler mentioned that if a a jeweler wants to sell me a tension set ring, it is only becusae they want to re-sell me the ring when the stone comes out.

What are your opinions of tension settings? I need to know all that i can about them, so please tell me everything.

I''m not an expert on tension settings, but I know that they cannot be resized. This may be a major concern if she plans to wear this ring for years to come.
