Oh!! Omg you lived in Sacramento?! What part of the foothills did you move to? My fiancée would love to move to the foothills.

My dad went to the La Bou by the zoo everyday during the week with his friends and with my mom on the weekends. Then he coulda been spotted at the Chinese restaurants down Freeport blvd!!

I may well have seen your father then! I distinctly remember seeing some of those gatherings and the occasional lone straggler! Often as not though when I was at La Bou it was with a friend, so a bit oblivious to other diner/denizens.

I live in (mostly) Auburn now. It’s beautiful, and lovely to be so close to trails and rivers. I miss Sacramento’s diversity though. I am much more of a minority here than I was in the big city - like your Dad, I’m Chinese (half, in my case) and unlike him, I’m fairly liberal. I especially miss the many cultural and dining options the city offered!

Mine is self-explanatory: my married name and our wedding date. At the time I joined PS, I was a newlywed and it just made sense to use it. I’m actually hyphenated IRL, but I use my married name when it’s just the two of us; it keeps it simple. :lol-2:

My username is my great grandmother’s middle name. She was an Irish Catholic who believed in the power of women and while growing up I heard stories of how she advocated for rights of women in her community.
The name Brigid has two meanings which I like, the first being Saint Brigid of Kildare and the second is Brigid the goddess, which is pagan .

Brigid has her own cross, does she not?

Yes, it’s a straw woven cross. I have collected a few from our travels to Ireland.
