Thanks for everyones help and advice. Well I decided to deal with my local diamond wholesaler in my city. They were extremely patient and helpfull. I decided to stay with a GIA certified diamond and went with a radiant cut as this is what my wife wanted. She has no idea that I went and picked it up for our 25th anniversary next week. We had agreed that we would be more practical and put the money into doing our back yard. Anyhow here are the GIA specs and a couple of pictures. I apologize for the quality of the pictures but my camera is average at best. Let me know what you all think and thanks again for all the help here.

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments. I figured I was better off getting something I could actually see from a reputable dealer. I decided that with a purchase of this nature there was nothing to be gained by trying to save a few dollars. The gemologist put in writing for me that if for any reason she is unhappy and would like to exchange it for any other cut that he would give me full credit for the diamond towards whatever I want. Tough to beat that. Won''t happen of course but still very nice of him. Thanks again.

Thanks, she get''s it on the 16th. I am going to buy her a purse or something similar and then put the ring in the purse. That way I can tell her that I know we agreed to do the back yard but I still wanted to get her a little something. Finally, I will tell her that there is a little something in the purse. Cuz, it is bad luck to give her a wallet or purse without throwing a little cash in it. (That is what she will think). Should be a nice surprise.
