I want a fancy colored diamond. I found ths lovely inexpensive diamond, which is graded as a fancy browish pink. However, when I showed it to my boyfriend he said it just looked brown to him. So, I am just curious, what is your first though, brown or pink?

I need a box for "both". I definitely see both brown and pink in the stone. I think it''s a really cool colored stone that would look killer set in rose gold. However, there is definitely some brown in it that people will see...can you accept the color for what it is and accept both the brown and the pink?

I voted brown, but I kinda see some orange too... Could be my monitor though, everyones will vary, so don''t take our votes to the grave.

I actually really like the color. I''ve found that in my price range stones without brown or grey are either too small to be practical for jewlery, or the color is so faint that it defeats the purpose of buying a colored stone. I just wonder if the stone is misgraded because it seems more like a pink-brown to me. I haven''t gotten to see it in person yet.

Honestly, I think it would be a disservice to make a judgment based on a photo because photos just cannot accurate portray the way a stone''s body color looks in person.

I own several J stones, and every time I try to photograph them, they show the body color MUCH more in photos than I can appreciate in real life.

Similarly, I have a stone with Very Strong Blue Fluorescence and it appears *much* more prominently in photos than it does it real life.

If anything, I''d assume that the color you see in a photograph is much more vivid than what you can expect to see in real life.

I agree that stones often photograph very differently than they look in person. I am just hoping that this one looks as sparkly and beautiful in person

Lovely! I see brownish pink = rose. It''s gorgeous.

I agree with Ellen and Allison that the colour we see is likely not that accurate. However having said that, I definitely see both brown and pink tones. I think it's a beautiful stone by the way

I agree that every computer looks diff. depending on the screen how old your computer is a lot of things but I did see more brown than pink but if you really love it go with your gut :)

There are pinkish-brown stones, and then there are brownish-pink stones. This one is brownish-pink.

I prefer the pinkish-bronze stones myself. They''re more pastel, sort of band-aide colored.

I think it is a lovely color

I think they call that "champagne." It''s a lovely shade, IMHO.

That''s exactly what I was going to say. This is more pink than most, but still champagne.

I am seeing pinkish brown. I like it. It would be nice in a pink gold head in the middle of the white princess cuts.

To be honest, I see mostly brown. Having said that, it''s a really pretty brown.

I see mostly brown...I''d definitely say it''s more pinkish brown than brownish pink. It''s really nice. Please post pics if you get it!

I think they call it "cognac". Champagne diamonds are quite a bit lighter, unless it''s just my monitor?

Ditto. It''s gorgeous, though! I also like the earlier suggestion of setting it in yellow gold. That would be killer.

I can see the tint of pink, but it looks mostly brown to me - a YUMMY shade of brown that is! Hopefully you''ll be able to take pics of it when you see it in person.

I see a lovely brownish pink with a bit more brown. The color appears to be evenly distributed.

I agree that photos are not accurate. Will you get to see it in person soon?

I love the color. It''s so pretty. If it''s really inexpensive and you don''t want it, can I have it?

I fully agree, Allison, and I might add that the same pic can show completely differently on various screens.

Live long,

I decided I don''t want to drive all the way to NY to see it before I buy it, so I am going to purchase the stone and have it shipped to me. If the color turns out to be something different than what I wanted, it shouldn''t be an issue because they have a 30 day no questions asked return policy. I''ll be sure to post pictures and a description of the color as I see it as soon as I get it.

I received the stone this morning. Here is a picture of the stone compared to my D color ring.

I like it a lot! Do you?

So what''s the verdict? Do you love it?

Here''s another picture. The color isn''t quite this dark in person

I am still undecided. My first reaction when I opened that package this morning was that I loved it since it sparkles like crazy. I am a little disappointed by the color because in person it is more of a carmel; more of a brown than a pink.
