Okay I highjacking my own thread. Is it okay to have two different places looking for my diamond? Same request, to both as far as what I am looking for.
I just assumed it was what I needed to do, but they both seem so nice, I want to buy from both!

I personally watch the sites of both Good Old Gold and WF, and whichever has had what I wanted, I ordered from them. I really do not deal with two vendors at the same time because I don''t want to waste their time. If neither has what I want in stock, I''d try one and then the other if the first could not find what I wanted.
 
So I should just compare the ones they have already checked for me and chose from that? I did mention to Mark (ERD) that I was having WF check for a stone also, because he asked about the WF mounting I told him I liked. I just assumed I should get at least two different quotes. Now I am afraid I made a mistake.

It''s not really a mistake. But these vendors post prices on the price searches and WhiteFlash has competitive prices. You wouldn''t really need to compare diamond prices on hearts and arrows stones by calling vendors because you can do it yourself here:

I understand what u are saying, I guess I have been looking to the point of confusion. I mean I decided I couldn''t pick from the numbers. I really don''t know enough about the numbers to make a good decidsion. So I am just having them both chose a couple of stones they thought would give me the most for the money. Sure don''t want to cause a lot of extra work for anybody.

I think having 2 vendors look into what they can offer you is fine.
Having 2 vendors call in stones and spend time and money doing so is not fair.
This is what forced a lot of vendors too charge an increasing call in fee too call in diamonds which hurts everyone.
 
I think that was what I thought I was doing, (not having them call in stones). If I had to just use my own eyes to narrow it down it would be alot of their time. I just asked them to check and see what was avail. that in their opinion would be good. So I am hoping its not been unfair to either one. So thanks for clearing that up for me.

You''re fine. But the situation is that WF has ACA stones in-house and has pictures, idealascope, etc. right there for you to see, whereas a vendor who is just checking a supplier list cannot give you as much information about the stones. So it''s not a fair comparison, really. For those who don''t want to deal with the numbers too much, ACA''s are perfect because they always fall in the most preferred numbers.
