If the stats ever come out, I think it's going to be a spready 8.7ct. Travis knows Taylor is a sucker for symbolic numbers and I can't imagine he didn't try and source a very specific stone weight!

I suspect that too. Or maybe the diamond has a provenience plus a significant carat weight. Or maybe a special cutter. In my mind It can’t be solely a modern cut antique style diamond. We need details!
 
They both look so happy. I love the shape of her stone and the yellow gold. It looks beautiful on her hand. i thought her engagement pictures were also beautiful.

It so good to hear really happy news.
 
If this engagement doesn’t teach me to stop reading comment sections on social apps, I don’t know what will. Just came from Instagram and good news for mall chains: everyone only spent $200 on their engagement ring and would NEVER EVER spend half a million on such an “ugly” ring like Taylor’s. I mean the comments are so hateful and cruel, I cannot imagine caring that much about someone else’s ring. But I suppose I was once young and rigidly judgmental as well, before I educated myself.

Why is it ok to laud sports teams and players for wearing tight pants and throwing a ball around while causing each other concussions and serving no purpose other than fueling a corporate machine, but Taylor Swift is awful because she entertains in two pairs of thick tights and a leotard and churns out similar corporate machine content that hurts no one? Hmmm, I smell collective M-word.
 
I like the ring, and I like the girl.
Too bad the whole world has to know their business. It must be a lot of pressure for this couple.
 
I think it's a lovely ring. I would bet it's a newly cut stone to look antique from what we can see. It suits her hand too- as well as her general frame. I'd say he did well!

I like that setting, the prongs for safety with a thin bezel. Very nice!
 
I love the maker, just has a really cool take on engraving. It is also incredibly wearable for the absolute boulder that it is, smart that it has a shank with real heft. I wonder if it's an enclosed gallery or partially cupped?

Taylor! If you're here, we need to see a side view of the gallery! :wink2:
 
i like the ring. Not sure about him. Wonder if they'll actually get married. I think she wants kids. Not sure I'd want him for an ex. He. seems quite aggressive and his family were caught saying Taylor pushed him hard. So. We'll see.
 
I love the ring. I designed mine with a similar aesthetic. Hoping it won’t look like a cheap Taylor knock off in a year or two lol.

Not really, if you consider that she may have known it was coming. I doubt the proposal was a surprise. They probably discussed getting married. He may have gotten her input as to what she would like in general. And then she waited for the actual thing to happen..... Not unlike the excitement and impatience we see here while waiting for jewelry to be completed.

I assume this was found on Twitter or the like. This just sounds like internet trolls, unhappy with their own life, maybe a little jealous, or misogynistic, that just feel the need to bash a highly successful woman.
 
My point about the comment was more that it should have never been commented publicly at all. Not discreet. Hurtful. If my inlaws had even jokingly said something like that and I found out, I would have felt awful. That's all.
 
Taylor and Travis live far from ordinary lives. He doesn’t seem fazed and actually seems to enjoy the attention she receives which I imagine may have been difficult for many men.

I watched the interview I believe you are speaking of @lyra. I too would have also been kind of upset had I not seen his dad’s interview. He looked over the moon about the engagement and seems to genuinely love Taylor. I was under the impression from the interview that both their dads spoke to each other often and both were very excited for this engagement to happen.
 
The internet is full of articles and photos of antique cushions! GOOD JOB TAYLOR AND TRAVIS.

Now let’s go through every “help me find an antique cushion” thread and scour them for football/lyrics references.

Incidentally, here is a 2.5 carat oval that might pass as an elongated antique cushion if put into a rectangular setting. It is cut shallow and has a spread of 13mm x 7.5mm.

Is there a reliable source saying Taylor’s diamond is actually a lot of carrots? It would be funny if the diamond was a shallow replica of an antique cut and the ring cost $10k.
