Taxes on Diamonds - Calling Canadian PS''ers

When you buy a diamond from the US online, how much customs taxes do you end up paying, if any at all? Do we have to pay both PST and GST too?

Any clarification on the taxes I can expect to pay would be great. I hope some of the Canadian PS''ers can help me out.

Just GST/PST. No ''customs tax''. There used to be a luxury tax, but that has been gone for a long while.

Aw, I thought if you bought a diamond from outside of your province, you don't have to pay PST but you have to pay BOTH GST and PST when it enters Canada?

Depends on which Province--only those who have the PST can charge the same. I live in AB and only pay GST on the US exhanged rate.
